Also, if anyone in the Ammos gets done before the Hills and BLG you'd have some pretty serious questions about the whole thing.

Ammos have a lower cap so some, especially those against it, might push the boundaries to get that "marquee" player.

FWIW I still can't believe the delegates passed a rule where the maximum a bloke playing for Gawler Centrals can earn is $1000, whereas you travel down the road slightly to a Div 1 Club and financial powerhouse in Salisbury North and that same bloke can only earn $400.

Madness for us to be playing under different rules than the BLG, Hills and GSFL.

What variant of the Cap did the SFL implement?

Isnt it 300 max for ammos and 400 for others

Nope, $400 max player, $3000 max total for C9AFL
Other affiliated Leagues $500 max player, $4000 max total, allowed one marquee player at up to $1000 (but all counts under the total of $4000).

Will cause the standard of the C9AFL to decline in my view.

Lets not forget all the amateur clubs have 15 points, the BLG has a sliding scale with the example you used, Gawler Central only having 6 points

But that's an intra league policy designed to promote equalisation which the C9AFL does through promotion and relegation. If I understand correctly other clubs in the BLG get significantly more than 15 points?

Ah no, 15 is the maximum, would only be 2-3 clubs at that level. You can have as low as 3.

The country clubs will play by the rules you can bet on that. No chance of any country club doing anything other than playing fairly by the rules.
When the ammo standard declines you wont be able to blame the country clubs. You can blame the ammo administrators for letting it happen.
You can see it happening. The ammo standard declines and everyone will whine and bitch and blame their poor country cousins and lay false
claims of the poor country clubs paying more more than they should. The country clubs will play by the rules but that wont stop the bitching.

You have said it 3 times now but that's not actually Hosie. Neither he nor Batman can be in two places at once.

Now that ASADA have finished with Essendon, are they going to investigate Salisbury North?

Typically the Div 1 thread is the quietest and most boring thread, any chance someone could do something or say something.....

I will in an attempt to get some discussion going as the season is less than 3 months away Predict a ladder for 2016 end of minor round. I will prefix this with the fact I have not seen any clearances or ins and outs. I did see nearly every team in Div 1 play last year especially those in finals I saw on more than one occasion. Here goes....

1. TTG - were the best team in the minor round last year and will be keen to atone for their Seaton like exit
2. Goodwood - no Tuck, no worries. So much talent and depth. If they are not around the mark I,ll wear a French maids outfit on Grand Final day
3. PNU - Some big ins and some big outs. Leading at 3/4 time of the Div 1 GF it was oh so close to the 3peat :( :((
4. Salisbury North - with 2015 off field issues behind them I expect improvement. Always very hard to beat at home.
5. PAC - scholarships, scholarships, anyone for a scholarship. Squad will be stronger and I expect big things from the boys in magentaish :D

6. Henley - a few big outs but always depth in youth from the Henley Footy factory next door. First time missing finals in years...maybe
7. Rostrevor - looked a big defender, on baller and Ruckman short from their premiership winning team on the 3x I saw them. Still a fit, fast unit
8. Port - disappointing 2015 despite beating PNU twice. At least they don't have to play bogey team Portland ;)
9. Unley Mercedes - the loss of Whopdog is massive. Will be competitive but the first time in Div 1 is always very tough...and go Jetters
10. Adelaide Uni - I watched them play 3/4 last year and they didn't kick a goal. Need a bit of luck to avoid relegation in 2016 for mine.

It's a tougher gig than you think doing this and someone will bolt and someone will drop off. Happy to admit I was a mile off with my pre season prediction on TTG last year and UMJ in div 2. Probably a lot easier to analyse post the clearance list but here is my first best effort.

You're wrong already, D1 season kicks on in 3 months and 2 days.... ;)

PACOC and ROCS to both make finals.

Goodwood will obviously be around the mark.

Henley to drop off.

PNU, Salisbury North, Tea Tree Gully and Port District to contest for the other two spots in the five.

Agree AU and Unley to get relegated. (Sorry Unley, just D1 has been very unkind to D2 runners up in recent years)

1. Jets.
2. PAOC
3. Goodwood
4. PNU
5. TTG

6. Rostrevor
7. Salisbury North
8. Henley
9. Port Districts
10. Uni

Jets to beat Goody by 1 point in the GF with Jetters to slot in through after the siren. You can all get fU(ked.

There's no chat in the upper div threads because clubs are above the petty bullshit of "we've got this new div 5 forward, he's old, trains once a week and we are going to pay for the privilege of his once a week attendance... we are premiership contenders this year!'. That same bloke would be propping up the forward pocket in the 2s at serious football clubs.

I'm bored as well, so before the self imposed media ban kicks in....

PNU: premiership favourite. Gobby prix but gee they're good and Macca is in the top coach category. I have seen them win every last 1/4 of a game I've watched in the past 3 years but injury got them in the final 25 minutes of the GF. Langford was hobbled all game and the "Situation" looked, unusually, out of sorts: I believe through injury.
Goodwood: No 2 because they're saying they won't be. Top club and coach
TTG: Amazed everyone last year. Lost some good players but always seem to find some. NFI on this one
Salisbury North: always up there & have no intention of being second rate.
Henley: lost a few but have as good a feeder system as those above. May do a TTG and be a surprise
Rostrevor: Holm back. Where do they get all those 190cm blokes from? Wish we had their oval. New (great) coach will bring his experience from 15 other clubs ;) Hope he won't blind them with his rapier humour
Unley: Jetters predicted their success last year and they tripped at the end, but no-one will deny they were the best team in D2. Big Stephen White & the Whoopdog out, but will the Muff get lured in ;) Like all top clubs they have a fantastic junior system and their coach Troy Hall is exceptional
Port District: Very quiet which suggests they're up to something. Class club and feeder system. They need to succeed in D1 as the Premier club of the peninsular
Uni: I've heard nothing. They must all be on holidays
PAOC: New coach and a few retirements / recruits. Six sides this year but SHOC did that a couple of years ago: means little. Wanting to stay up (Despite WW's humorous post, SAAFL players are too old to get a scholarship now)

So looking forward to the 2016 season. Watching Ch9AFL football is so much better than AFL or SANFL

GOOD LUCK TO ALL CLUBS
