Are you planning on SMOSH being in div 3 in 2010? Good to see that you are not setting goals beyond yourself.

Now i wasnt at the game on the weekend. What is the news out of Modbury this week, was reading back a few pages where there was talk of them going thru undefeated. Are they coming back to the pack. Dont blame injuries either or oyu will be mistaken for someone from SMOSH.All clubs have injuries at this time of the year.

Simply couldnt put Edwardstown away. We had our chances but didnt finish a few quality passages of play. Normally they would result in a goal and normally sink the oppositions confidence, but wasnt to be. The Hawks would get 3 goals up then they would peg us back. In the end finished 4 points on the wrong side of the ledger. Edwardstown kept the pressure on and finished in front of goal in the last term.

Also been a tough few weeks on the track for the hawks which might not have helped in a tight last 5 minutes of the game.

thanks footy smart. How do you rate edwardstowns chances of making the 5 and can they really do any damage if there at the business end of the season

They had some leg speed and put alot of pressure on the ball carrier. It was almost a final for them so they had to come out firing. I think for sure they can match it with the best but still lack something. I rate them over athelstone definately.

In other words, playing a half of good footy didn't do Modbury any good in this case. I think they'll be better for the loss personally..

Talk about a tough week at Modbury.. obvoiusly still reeling after losing their own quiz night

Go back further than a few weeks EFC and you will see a few posts that say Modbury will lose at least 2 or three matches AND no they are not coming back to the pack the pack is gaining on them. All the clubs have had half a season to plan their revenge on the Hawks so IMHO they will suffer more losses. Hopefully this will make them hungry and gear them up for the finals.
Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser.

No Mercy cracks me up reading your posts. Have no idea about whats going on at smosh.
Have no idea that the majority of the a and b grade are good mates on and off the field and
playing div 1, 2 or 3 or even 4 would make no difference to who plays or who doesnt play at our club.
So no-one likes losing and yes we would want the club to remain in div2 cause whats the point of going
back a division to only win the majority of your games and then come back up a division again. We have
had the same cattle there for a number of years and if you actually went back and had a look at our division 4
GF side of 2003 i think you will find around 8 - 10 players which played in that side have pulled there boots
on in the a grade this year. Not bad for a club who is supposely recruiting all these players and paying big bucks.
Before you start criticising our club just have a look at the turnover of players at your club this year and then come and talk
about being a club and respecting your mates that you play with. Doesnt happen at seaton and never will!!!!!!!!!
Cant wait for your comeback on that one. Just to finish if you were down the bartley then you would have
seen us boys have lunch, bet and beer together cause there is more to life than amatuer footy but being at
seaton you wouldnt know what mates are cause all they do is want money, leave the club in bad times, return
when its good and money is better and slag other clubs.

Flying Scotsman it sounds to me you don't know whats going on at SMOSH either, 3 weeks ago you were claiming you'd be upsetting a few in the finals this year and now you're writing like you're waving the white flag and the only thing that matters in footy is mateship, drinking beers and betting. It's not a wonder you're an average club with those ideals.

Did you read what i wrote?? I said that we want to stay in Div2 cause thats where we belong!!!
The point i was making is that our club and players are a tight unit and it wouldnt matter what division we played in cause the same guys would be playing there anyway. Read properly next time before making a comment.
Add this to your thought we know its going to be a tough final 7 rounds for us and we realise we may need 3 or more wins to stay out of relegation and we will do the best we possibly can to avoid it.

Hey Flying Scotsman, your not the only club thats players are mates on & off the field, the majority of Seaton boys are the same. Some great nights had down the club like the other weeks 175 attendance, good numbers hey champ.
I think what you seriously need to look at my friend is the 8-10 players that were playing in that div4 premiership in 03 that are still playing now in the As in Div2 08.
Wouldn't you think maybe getting a little old & long in the tooth for the higher divisions? Could be the reason you can't win games or is that your excuse, coz the so-called recruits of 08 havn't lived up to there reputation as quality footballers. You want to stay in Div2?
As for Seaton they are playing alot of kids, its what you call development & yes they maybe struggling of late but know doubt its better than playing any older players that arn't there for the real reasons, these kids are the future & yes they havn't proven to be a successful club in Div1 like they are in Div2 yet.

OK, I'm going to jump in here to the defence of the Flying Scotsman.

PNU also have about half of the blokes that played in a div 4 Grand Final . Ok, they're not travelling the best at the second, but when they're switched on, this core group on thier own will dominate any game as most of you have seen.(I think Ive said this before).

These blokes are not old and most of them are around the 24,25,26 age group. These blokes are helping the younger guys in our side to develop into players of div2 quality. We only have 3 blokes in our side over 28 yrs of age. Do you anything about our players and club or are you making this up with your buddies down the bartley if you have any down there. Who are our so called recruits of 08.
Klusek former coach old scholar and good mates with alot of the blokes out there, Robbie fraser a smosh west lakes boy through and through junior club best and fairest old scholar and best mates with alot of the blokes out there. Spiro walk in off the street who wasnt expected to play so he was a bonus. ANYMORE you can think of let me know cause they arent playing in the 1's.
If you also hadnt seen our b grade are top and full of blokes 22 and under. Very promising signs. You just worry about how many players left your club last year after playing in a GF. How many new recruits have seaton got this year and do every year???? Then let me know how many players left our club after the GF.
