Question is, can Mawson Lakes or Houghton improve their percentage enough by seasons end (or another side drop considerably) to give them any hope of avoiding relegation?

I think Houghton can scrape out of the bottom 2 by seasons end.

That would be a huge win.. you've been competitive recent weeks so wouldn't surprise me - definitely would make the ladder look interesting depending on other results too.

Looking at today's results 2 sides have the greatest depth to draw on.
Pultney & Elizabeth.

Elizabeth & Pulteney miles ahead of the rest in both grades.

No disrespect intended to the other clubs in the reserves, but it was really good to face a tough side today and genuine finals football side after having a number of soft games this season.

If it's the same umpire who did our game, he's really good.

I'll tell you who is no good - Pulteney B grade umpire! Phark me, I've seen a lot of horrible umpires, mostly from battling clubs and you can suck it up, but when you're the umpire of a side smashing teams and umpiring like that you're a fair dinkum disgrace.

I'm still scratching my head over most his decisions/non decisions!

Lol I didn't say he was the reason you keep winning - you keep winning because you're good! You're fit, well disciplined and drilled with your setups and dangerous in front of goals.

But your umpire is a shocker, and put a dampener on what I thought was a reasonable good game.

What makes it harder is he mostly does the centre and our forward half, so the decisions do impact us to a degree and hurt.. frustrating having our umpire too who lets most things go haha.. I just wanna bloody free kick occasionally!

Moving on from umpire bashing as over my journey I have seen some shocking club umpires...

Ingle Farm have fallen in a bit of a hole and have a huge must win game next week and what a very interesting reunion of sorts it will be at Rowe Park against Salisbury West. One can only hope it's not ladies day.

Farmers lose next week its just about curtains on the season. 41 players used in 6 games, no continuity with the side, makes it very hard to gel and play a cohesive team game and be able to stick at the plan for extended periods.

Ladies day haha that would be funny

I'm sure there will be some of the women footballers there to see their special guy

There are many many better avenues for having an umpire performance managed than what has happened in this thread

Did anyone try and call Rowston etc al first?

If it's the same guy who has been around for a few years, he is not the worst umpire going around but he IS the biggest deadset f&@king CHEAT. And has had that reputation for years.

If it's not the same guy, then they certainly know how to find them.........

Last week against Salisbury West there were MANY examples but giving frees when he was not able to see the ball because of the wall of players, and from 70 metres away, all in favour of Trinity 3 or 4 times - speaks for itself. Especially when the other umpire was 15 metres from the contest and in front of the ball.

Operations, knees, ankles, glandular fever, work, weddings......so not fitness! Maybe a hammy or two could be put down to that but they were to our fittest blokes

< edited - Must you make it personal?>

I don't know who umpired on the weekend so I cant speak for that game. But the umpire we had for the 2 years I coached was probably the fairest umpire in the comp. Had multiple coaches say the same thing. Never stooped to the levels of a couple of other clubs umpires even when the game threatened to boil over because of it

< mods - really? I'm surprised at you....> Or, you have confused him with someone else
