Rosies aint that good.

well they were better than salisbury west today. was a tight first half but rosies ran over the top of them in the last half.

Bitter pill for haven to swallow. Went in thinking it was just gonna happen. Lockleys really weren't that good but worked together. Haven weren't prepared to work yesterday. They'll turn things round

Interesting game at Plympton today, I only watched bits and pieces as i was generally inside watching the races. Every time I went out to have a look I saw a completely different game! Its like the door of he clubrooms was a stargate and i was lobbing at different footy grounds each time!

Well Done to the Cats who made great come back after being kept at arms length for the most part of three quarters.

Plympton need to work on hitting targets with handpasses from what I saw, they were either drilling team mates from 2m away which caused a fumble, or putting it over a team mates head or at his feet, this caused a lot of turn overs. Woodville South were also always front and square at most contests as well.

Bit of a hiccup for the doggies but nothing too much to worry about i would have thought, they arent the first club to have a last quarter fade out and they wont be the last.

On a lighter note its great to see the black slacks back at the footy, nothing says were ready for a game of footy more than a pair of black slacks. Surely the SAAFL are going to tap into this market and make the clubs buy only SAAFL approved black slacks?

If not i'll be buying shares at roger david next February, and selling them in april, should be able to make myself a small fortune from all the footballers black slacks.

We lost yesterday by 23 points, fustrating loss. Well done to Lockleys on the win, they certainly came ready to play, were switched on and started very well, we simply did not. Their first quarter/half set the game up nicely for them which gave them a nice 3-4 goal buffer for most of the game. We did start to play some better footy and it was pretty even in the second half as we did start to come back a bit which was a postitive but to Lockleys credit they battled hard, kept us from getting back into the game and ran out winners.

On to next week now where we host Brahma at home, huge game. Can't wait. :D

Always a great look when a team is wearing their club shirt, a pair of black slacks and black dress shoes. Always makes your team look like a real tight unit that's come ready to play. We do it and it looks great. I highly encourage it.

We have to have the most even Division in the league and it's making for a very intresting season. Six sides are one and one. Home wins are of course very vital as everybody aims to win all of their home games but away wins are going to be even more vital this season, they will be like gold.

Haha, yeah of course they are. Just pointing out that away wins will be important given how much harder it is to win away than at home as in all grades of footy most teams are more comfortable playing and winning at home. On that note, well done to Rossies winning up at Salisbury West yesterday.

agreed just looked over the results then... very surprised... very shocked to see HV 0-2... pretty disapointing to see plymptons result considering the position they were in, at 3 quarter time...

Anyone at the Salis West V Rossies game want to elaborate on the reason for Salis Wests poor showing.
Obviously Rosewater came to play but Westies are alot better than that surely.

at one stage we were about 7 or 8 goals up but silly free kicks and conceding goals in junk time hurt us.. scotty mac kicked 8 from the middle was best a field easy followed by ty allen and number 17 for lutherans.. bryan gatto got some air time with a massive speckie in the last quarter..

glad to get our first win and much better improvement from round 1 few more players to come back.. things looking up at tigerland

well done to out b grade upsetting lutherans b grade.. i know umpires in the b grade slightly favor their sides but lutherans umpire was a space cadet and was totally one sided if it wasnt for him our b grade wouldve won by 10 goals

Not sure how good Westies are cos I've never seen them play before but they lost a couple of blokes before half time with injuries. Scores were close at half time but it was all Rosies after that.

I must admit i thought Westies would dominate Div 5.
I know its only one game but 10 goals is a huge defeat. Good sides can come back & respond from defeats like that.
I remember losing to a team by 15 goals ANZAC DAY one year, i was devastated but what made things better was we ended up winning the premiership that year.
We didn't just sit back & took what come, we went after what we wanted & took it.

I don't usually have a crack at umpires because it's a thankless job, but the B grade ump on the weekend was dead set terrible. Threatened to ruin a pretty good contest, and the red card, which was withdrawn, was bizarre in itself. I heard he had no ties to Lutheran, which makes it even more puzzling.

On the game, unlucky to our C's again, good numbers continuing to show, and 8 more debutants on the weekend. Can't knock their endeavour and they all had a fair crack at it.

The B grade win was probably our best win we've had in a couple years, especially after the lack of effort put in last week. Our defensive pressure across the whole ground was excellent, and the key was Lutheran only kicking 3 goals with the breeze. A special mention to Number 23 from the Lodge who took a mark on the goal line, only to kick the ball into the behind post on the full.

The A grade game was interesting, a couple times the boys looked like they had the game in the bag, but credit to Lutheran who never gave up. Scotty Mac was superb, is there anything he cant do? Time to have a crack in defence.

Well what a day out at plympton park. The C grade in a close one. B grade in quite a big win. Finally the A grade, well lets be honest plympton probably deserved to win if u look at the whole game. Woodville South seemed to be making simple mistakes and it was costing them. Luckily it didnt cost them all that much as plympton were unable to put us away. I was interested to hear at 3 quarter time the plympton coaching giving the players a huge spray and was thinking why would u do that when your 6 goals up.

But i guess footy is a mysterious game. Even with about 15 mins left i thought the game was beyond us and that we werent gonna win but we stepped up that extra level and bang on some crucial goals. Was a great game played in great spirit.. I tell you what though im sick of these close games they are very annoying.. Credit must be given to woodville south cause generally last year if they were in the same position as they were saturday they would have ended up losing by about 20 goals. So they never gave up and will give the players a great belief for the rest of the season

Fully agree with the umpire comments. After watching the past 2 b grade luths games you can tell the bloke has no idea. The worst part is that generally the other umpire try's to even things up and pys equally stupid free kicks the other way, so the game turns out to be umpire ping pong rather than footy...I don't like having a crack t umpires cos it's one of the hardest jobs on the field and you can never please everyone all the time, but there is a line of senseablity...after talking to a few of the luths boys the vibe is that they can't stand it either, and they have to put up with him each week...

Get off your power trip and let them ply footy

See some good players over the first 2 weeks and was wondering.... Who are the standout opposition players your teams have come up against?
It's good to know who to look out for from an opponents prospective!
