Still am of the opinion that if you want to point out issues with umpires you completely deny that your own skill errors and poor decision making cost you goals not umpires...

In the Luth Brahma B grade game one team should have had the game in the bag at half time..the other team lost concentration and conceeded the last four goals after gaining the lead with 10 to play..on both occassions the opposition took full advantage..a gutsy fightback by the young dogs in the rain and the experience and size of Brahma turning the screws beautifully in the final stages

Having said that there are definately times when the club umpires appear to compete..adds to the drama and creates a wwe style storyline....

Would love to hear that two club umpires had a Ramsgate incident !!!

I reckon the guy who pointed out the umpire issue was on the winning team...

[quote="Hoodlum"]Bitter pill for haven to swallow. Went in thinking it was just gonna happen. Lockleys really weren't that good but worked together. Haven weren't prepared to work yesterday. They'll turn things round[/quote

Couldn't agree more, no real fight at all but I think that is where we are at and our ladder position is a reflection of where we are at

Woody Sth bit stiff after good win last week.
Luthies even money with Lodge I reckon
West Croydon good form, good chance

Games more even than tips suggest!

It def wasn't expectation that brought us undone, Lockleys just wanted it more. Half a dozen younger lads that were brilliant against HV struggled but thats what you have to expect from guys that are 16 - 19 years old, which will be a factor all year for Havens. In this case the senior players didn't lift enough to compensate, which will a big factor in whether we stay in the division or not.

Massive games this week. Teams would've set themselves a goal to be in front at Easter.
Especialy for Adel Luth and Hope Valley. Must get on the board before the break.

Luth have Woody Sth 3rd home game in a row, Hope Valley v Rosewater.
Tough games but must wins you'd think!

I nearly had a scrap with an opposing umpire a few years ago, he kept calling frees 100m away when I was right there, he called me a feral, once I called a free in his area he went nuts at me. We were toe to toe at half time, I had to walk away.

Spot on Boosh. I saw in the Haven side 2 sixteen year olds, and 3 nineteen year olds, which is a third of ya side under 20, so they will have ups and downs this year. I saw Havens miss a good 5 easy shot, by not using the wind correctly and Lockleys jumped to attention early. Worthy winners make no mistake, but I think may be a different story come round 11.

Won't worry about round 11 just yet. I honestly thinkin this div the team who comes to the game in thebest frame of mind can beat any team, it is that close.

Round 2 has made it clear quite early that this Div is fantastic. Good close comp. Every game is winnable from top to bottom. I think the top 2 to go up will be extremely worth and the bottom 2 to go down to be extremely unlucky. Makes the season a cracker.

I know its only one game but 10 goals is a huge defeat. Good sides can come back & respond from defeats like that.
I remember losing to a team by 15 goals ANZAC DAY one year, i was devastated but what made things better was we ended up winning the premiership that year.
We didn't just sit back & took what come, we went after what we wanted & took it.

early days and they do have some good players injuried

Yeah we should have been 6-7 goals up at half time, then Lutheran had the breeze so it was just natural that they would kick a couple and get close, although we dominated the second half of the 3rd quarter into the breeze. Then when Lutheran hit the front in the last, we actually started to play decent footy and got the lead and win we deserved. Good game though by both teams.

I am having a go at the umpire, because he was terrible. Doesnt matter if I cant handball or kick or mark, it has no bearing on the umpire paying ridiculous free kicks the other end of the ground. But you are right about the second bit, the umpires tend to play off against each other and does ruin a good contest.

Not required, with your injury, 4-6 weeks at best, then 2 matches in the B's, then you may get back to the A's, in the back pocket. $20 is looking really safe....
