They didn't give C-C the coaching job because he was a short-term fix, and yet they're throwing 200 bucks a week at Shepherd to hang around for a little while? Is this not a bit of a contradiction?

my word its a contradiction which is the point i was trying to make the fact that theyre throwing money at blokes to stay in div four, fair enough but the attitude seems to be that they will all stay regardless, very skeptical

Cockatoo-Collins was at the Roswater game on Sat

The word about Shephard was he is on a lot more than 200 a game

He is definately on more than 200 a game,

The rest of the players get paid if they rock up
to training and they win i am pretty sure.

I am with Jester,

Portland will find it hard to beat Rosewater
when they play them.

The dogs will beat a few teams above them this year.

Portland vs Rosewater are always good clashes - local derby, bragging rights, all that stuff. Wouldnt matter what recruits either side have/havent got. Bring it on, i love it. :D

rosewater will be banking heavily on shep, rumbelow and karpany(who youl ask) good point whilst shep has proven himself karpany is untried and has no sizzle about him at all. a fully fit portland can contain a rumbelow and a karpany and a garndleese will smash shaun jacobsen at centre half forward and if need be will commit some one to sit in front of shep what then for the doggies? back to the rickety, salt damp having kennel

Micky i think your kidding yourself if you think they only have three blokes that can play footy, for starters you left out their captain/ruckamn/doeseverything Russ Ware. i think you should also consider how bad you guys have been for the last fortnight, your lucky you get the week off to get a few blokes back and iron out some creases.

I agree Jester, just because we get blokes back doesnt automatically fix the problem. Sure, it does help, but still have to improve our form.
Must treat opposition with respect, but still have confidence in ourselves.

jester your forgetting that we've played sides whose odds of playing div 3 shorten almost every week, talk about your mitchams and north havens but salirsbury/para hills will play div 3 next year
