WOW!

Yeah, it's amazing what happens when you're actually allowed to use your own oval to train on...

No goalkicking practice, but was very vocal on the track and looking pretty fit!

Looking forward to a big season SD for all 3 grades. There is potential for all grades to go a long way if committment is there and cant wait to be a part of it. As for the goal kicking kookas, ill be at park 9 this sat with the footy working towards my carton ;)

Yep, A's, B's, C's as well as U18's for season 2011 plus all the U18's that have come up to senior footy from last season. Add to that about 5-10 blokes returning after various stints elsewhere or some time off footy, 15 or so new blokes - and the numbers add up pretty quickly!

Excellent numbers for a first session and certainly caught the coaching staff by surprise

The only noted departure is Gavin Baust to gaza. approx 15 new faces last night inc former players leaves us in a good position. Some promising juniors have come into the 18's this year also and may be blooded into the senior teams throughout the year.....

2 x A graders - 1 to Gaza (G Baust) and the other is still not a 'definite' out, but is training elsewhere I believe...

SD, I heard a rumour that Wardy was in a car accident and his legs sustained pretty bad injuries. Is that correct, is he alright?

Unfortunately you're sorta correct.

Wardy was unfortunately the bloke who was changing his tyre on the freeway when the truck hit him. He managed to dive onto his bonnet to try and get out of the way but the truck still clipped his legs.

He's had a few surgeries and a knee recon but is up and about and getting around on crutches. He's one of the most positive blokes I know and have no doubt that he'll do everything in his power to beat the odds and get back on the footy field, despite his doctors saying it's unllikely he'll play again.

Troy Rhodes playing this year? If committed, could play A grade easy.

He had only just got over a broken foot which kept him out of all of last year. Was looking to have a run around in the B grade this year until the accident. Not sure if he'll get back, but if anyone could from that, Wardy could. Footy wouldn't be high on his list, especially given that he was milli-seconds away from not being here at all

It also happened shortly after the tragic loss of one of our players. It's fair to say it's been a pretty tough off season for those involved with the HVFC. As a group, it has certainly brought us all closer together

With his work commitments and 2 young kids, I'm not sure if he'll play A grade this season. Hopefully he does, but I'm sure the C grade coach will be happy to have him if he doesn't! :D
