Hasn't this been more due to the host clubs on-field behaviour in recent years?

I thought it was more to deter the riff raff from the north to go to a northern gf. Thats why most gf’s been down southern side of the city of late

No club on an AAA agreement can hold home finals of any description.

Not that Salisbury are on one....

I see the Kenilworth reno's have commenced, will the effect their ability to host finals?

If OSBL make the GF it would be the ideal venue for them

Were they on one though? They went through a few years there around the same time as Ingle Farm where they picked up plenty of suspensions (mostly through the 18's).

As long as it is fully fenced it can be used, yes, if Marion are the opposing side I'd imagine they will be playing there.

I think you are right, unofficially though.

As FC said, we are not on an AAA. We were for a year after the Under 18s debacle in 2015, a year in which no senior players were reported.
The last time we hosted a GF all the issues were from the clubs playing, not the club hosting. We would love to host a GF in 2018 and in an ongoing capacity, the venue is too good not to be utilised IMO. I’m sure if any games are placed there they will be carefully selected, however.

Ah there ya go! Thanks for clearing that up.

I think Salisbury Oval should be used for GF's, its easily one of the better grounds in the competition, good size and a cute little grandstand as well.

Really the league should've perhaps been a little more aware heading into that 2013 GF given how events during the season had unfolded, in hindsight was always going to be a risk.

Each game is mini-final now for the top 6 teams as they jockey for position. Lions form has been off the boil a bit, hopefully playing the teams ranked 2-4 in the final month of the season will tune us up for the finals.

Hope they can find some consistency over 4 quarters. Takes awhile to warm up against the lower sides lately. 14 points down against Flinders Uni 10 minutes before half time. Then kick 19 goals 20 to 1 goal after that.

No issues with Kenilworth hosting a GF. All it effects are probably 50-60 cars which can easily be parked on the other side of the clubrooms. It actually makes it more ideal for spectators in front of where the construction site is and probably gives them a bit more standing room than if cars are coming through.

Further to that (I’ll just get in before this one gets bought up like 3-4 other times it has in the last 10 years) IF any Kenilworth senior teams are involved in an away final of any sort then the club will also be available to host neutral finals as we have volunteers that can be called on to assist.

Pulteney I know are eager to play at St Mary’s if given the chance.

Ladder after Rd 15
30 - OSBL
24 - SPOS
23 - Marion
18 - TTG
17 - CU
---------------------

16 - Mawson Lakes
14 - Houghton
06 - Golden Grove
02 - Mitchell Park
00 - Flinders Uni

Rd 16
Flinders Uni vs Mitchell Park - good opportunity for both these battling clubs to pick up a rare win as they close out the season. Mitchell Pk surely get over the line in this one after some close results in recent weeks.

Mawson Lakes vs Houghton - interesting match, the Mozzies can effectively end the Raiders finals chances with a win here. A Raiders win however keeps the door slightly ajar but will help the Units create some breathing space.

Central United vs Golden Grove - Units should collect the points here and move into 4th position, and a step closer to a finals berth.

Tea Tree Gully vs OSBL - Hard to see the Lions dropping one as they wind up towards finals and much needed club success.

Marion vs St Pauls - could be the match of the round. Marion with a draw last week shows they're vulnerable, and St Pauls just continue to do enough to keep winning. 2nd place and home final on the line here. Marion for me in a close one.

Think he kicked 7.12 or something like that, I guess you get that when you don't know how to handball and take shots from the carpark

Marion V StPauls is MASSIVE. I am sure both teams don't fancy travelling across the other side of town for 1st week of finals. M Lakes need a win to stay in contention, Houghton still an outside chance of pinching a finals spot if results went their way (unlikely).
