Maybe Modbury's big win was due to the visitors change rooms not being up to scratch; funny how no one complains about them when they win-didn't happen that often hence all the complaints.
those change rooms were crap back in the 70's and if they haven't changed since then , it shows Modbury's " we are the best f%^& the rest" and lack of respect to their opposition has not changed at all.

It is interesting Jayne, I am of the belief as a collective group and at this level of footy they need to be playing constantly. We're not talking about finely tuned athletes where every day is crucial to recovery. I reckon it does more harm than good not playing if for no other reason than their mental preparation.Jayne wrote:When Modbury play the GF on the 13th it will be only their 2nd game in the previous 27 days...
Interesting... Does it freshen them up or make them less match conditioned, ie +ve or a -ve??

I don't know if you remember in 06 the SAAFL in their wisdom programmed the finals on consecutive weekends rather than on the same weekend where possible and we (Uni) had 3 weeks between our last competitive game and the grand final even though our B's were in the same boat and we had two weeks of internal games. History shows we got thumped by Goodwood but the point is our blokes were never in it mentally due sitting around on their arses.

Im not saying it doesn't work I just reckon playing footy regularly is better than week on week off. At best just the one week off is ok but straight from a 2nd semi is playing with fire. The Flying Scotsman wrote:Rotter wrote:It is interesting Jayne, I am of the belief as a collective group and at this level of footy they need to be playing constantly. My fault, I was making a sarcastic remark which is missed when writing.

This point can be debated forever. We had to play every week of the finals last year to win the A4 Premiership, and then Pt District in A2 only played two out of the four. We also lost our CHF during the finals, we could've used that week off, although we still won the whole thing. There's evidence both ways (playing or resting), the question of which route to the Grand Final is better will never get resolved.On1Leg wrote:Rotter wrote:Im not saying it doesn't work I just reckon playing footy regularly is better than week on week off. I'm on your side with this one Rotter. The 2006 finals set up (debacle) cost Uni the flag.

Neutral ground is interesting NM as the last time we played the Townies at Modbury in the minor round they knocked Modbury off. That result would have given Townies hope, that result also fired Modbury up as no one likes to get beaten on their home turf.

Modbury have been the better side all year HOWEVER the best side will win the Grand Final and that is still well and truely up for grabs
Howd you work that out?
