To the HV lads on here..... A couple of our young lads have made their way out to Hope Valley this year in search of a better opportunity and I wish them luck cos they are good lads. I notice that one of them, Nat Shattock, a young left footer is still playing C grade there. This kid can play despite looking a little ungamely !! Any chance of him breaking into the higher grades at some stage cos I know he'd make a difference to your half back line with his straight attack at the ball.... Good lad Nat...

Yes a few ex GG lads have either returned or joined us this year. Shatts and BP have both found there way into the C grade due to not knowing much about them/starting pre season late/plenty of numbers, etc... Shatts played his best game for us on Saturday and will push for a call up soon if he continues that form. Has stepped up his training the last week or so as well. BP has been hard pressed in that a lot of the B grade players being dropped/returning have been defenders so has found himself starting on the pine. I personally like the way BP goes about it and Shatts let me know all about wanting to get a start when I was holding the tackle bag at training last week!!

Shatts reads the game really well, tackles really hard for a skinny lad and runs well all game. Has a bit more hardness than Parks too... But I'd happily have him back in my side ;)

Yeah as SD said we have a very even group at the moment from the bottom part of the A grade through to the top half of the C grade and lots of numbers to choose from. I saw most of their games on Saturday and both played well. Im sure the B grade coach would have noticed this too!
We are a drinking team with a football problem!

I must say thank you and good on you to Plympton for their Canteen and BBQ facilities that they have down there. The Chocolate donut are great and the boys on the BBQ make a great steak, bacon and egg burger aswell. I was impressed with the little book they write up with the team lists, game reports, junior info and other stuff in there, do they produce one each week? If so, great effort.

hope valley are deffaintly not a wooden spoon team! the way they played on the wk end was unbelievable. they didnt play awesome but deffinatly out played us. we played one quarter of football and apart from that HV won everything else. and walking around shaking the boys hands it seemed like it wasnt the first time they have played like that and lost. was a good day pity about the weather. good initivie to bring the pale face sheild in and the bar staff put on a couple of jugs after the game.

hope valley are a well coached club and they leave nothing behind we they come to play
like all good teams, they can be playing well and still loose
to write them off at this stage of the year or at any time for that matter would be to a clubs own peril
at the moment they are hurting because they havent recieved the rewards for the efforts they are putting in but like all wounded warriors you should never count them out
from what i hear they have alot of new faces pushing their way into the senior grades and it will take time for that all to come together
a well structured and disciplined team with the right work ethic and the right guidance will make them a very dangerous club
see if your still saying the same come round 18
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

You'd think the writers for sportsbeat would do a little more research and not listen to stories on the forum without any facts. Apparently S. Hinsley and Damon are back to Portland. Interesting considering the played at Haven's on the weekend.

Also during the last quarter of the Haven's & Plympton game there was a bit of push and shove between players. The umpire ran straight into the middle of it and grabbed a player by the guernsey and pulled him away. Surely this isnt on. I hope North Haven lodge a copmlaint about the umpire.

If you bothered to read it properly (given you actually CAN read) it said that there were RUMOURS that they were on their way back there and it would be a big loss if it were true. It didn't say they had actually left.

Nice first post idiot! No it has not been the greatest start to the year but we played some pretty good footy on Saturday and only went down by two points. Did you see the game? It is a long season and is taking some time for our new squad to gel but be we will keep working hard to improve. It wasnt so long ago your club was struggling and was relegated so pull your F****** head in!

Apologies to the mods but the DH caught me on a bad day so F*** EM!

How bout you pull your head in.............whether you were baited or not...............you didn't have to respond like that!!

I agree it was a pretty full on comment first up and i have no doubt Hope Valley will have a fair crack getting out of their current situation, it is still early days.

However i think you will find as it stands HV are the bottom club.
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

It was a rumour but they are definitely staying at Havens.

I have another one that Steve might be able to help us out with, is it true North Haven might have an inclusion this week from the long term injury list if he can get himself out of the wheel chair?
