Well done to Unley trying to avoid relegation but Portland must be reeling!

Very dissappointing effort on the weekend by Portland, would require a minor miracle to make finals from here. Relegation battle very interesting though. Pretty good effort by the two teams up from D5 to be sitting 1-2 on the ladder. Mitcham team to beat, IMO.

I think that you'll find Para Hills will be a strong team for a few years yet, they will do well in Div 3, they have a young and talented side that are all very close off-field aswell.

Do you know him mick personally and I'm assuming your from portland just wondering what the hell is going on down there. They seem to have stalled as a club no progression, thought at one stage they would progress through the divisions nicely but this does not seem to be happening.

i know of the man behind the screen name. in the early years should have progressed through the grades quickly. great facilities, numbers, players. perennially underachieving has lead to a few issues with committees/individuals on committees and certains wings of the club being alienated. good group of young players at the club now though, we hate saying it we just lack 2 experienced players and another class player or 2 to be competitive. no excuses we are in the position we belong in currently

How is the club addressing this Mick or are they just happy accepting mediocrity. Its suprising that your BGrade seems to be going well so depth musnt be a problem that your AGrade isnt in a better position. What is the coach of the A Grade like?

depth isnt the issue 4-5 players could step in and be more than capable a grade footballers should the need arise. i think the coach is good. leaves no stone unturned in terms of preparation. an organiser more so than an inspirer. club just lacking a bit of consistency as our results show.

Dont really know any of the names in the best players. Played against them in 2000 and they were an absolute powerhouse that year seems like those names dont appear any more. Have they left the club or perhaps too old now and make up your B Grade.

Newman are you getting the opinion that Cracker may actually be someone who is actually from Portland currently... maybe a committee member? Smells like a rehearsed convo to me...

Micky you are too young and stupid to be commenting on my knowledge so neck up, Crackers I have know a lot of the div 4 clubs through either playing, coaching for or against over the years - these include Portland and Para Hills.

Cracker Portland have an internal problem that seen a split a few years back amongst the playing group and committee which ofcourse hurt the club. They have a great crop of kids coming through that they need to keep them in order to turn them into experienced A'graders however lets get one thing straight as I am fed up with these same excuses - why cant Portland emulate the sudden rise of Para Hills who themselves are a young club who have come up after being relegated and losing a number of players to tghe WBFL and the Athelstone FC.
