I wasn't actually being serious lol.

Good win though morell, certainly makes the last 6 games very interesting!

ohh haha

Yeah it was good result, it is easy sometimes to get ahead of yourself in those games but our lads made sure that full defensive effort was required at all times, no matter the scoreline.

Bit of a shame really that one of IF, BL, MP and TOS won't make finals in the magoos. All would've been top 2 or 3 in previous years of D6R that I have been involved in.

It's downright depressing to think about actually haha!! Even yesterday having a hard fought close win vs TOS to go 8-4 and realising we still dropped a spot is a little deflating haha!!

I thought 9 wins would be enough to scrape in, but I'm starting to think may need 11+ now.. What ever side misses should feel pretty hard done by after a good year.

*bump* - 37 goals required from 6 minor round clashes.. could collect a bag against Fitzroy & Adelaide Lutheran..

Can he do it?

Nah this isn't fair on the lads the rolled out for the Roys. They smashed in all day and made it much tougher on my lads than the scoreboard reflected.

Hope that's true Morell. That was the goal given our circumstances on Saturday. You guys were well organised and are very capable of doing some damage in the coming weeks and in the finals, if anything just need to control the little spot fires. Definitely a different side from our 1st meeting.

All so that was the best bbq I've had all year at the footy!

Absolutely. I very purposefully put an emphasis on defense and actually made a bet with my team that they couldn't keep you guys scoreless to ensure we stayed focused. That wasn't meant to be disrespectful, just the opposite in fact. I hate it when teams lairise and get cocky when the opposition is obviously under strength. The Roys lads battled and battled and setup well off half back, had to make some adjustments early!

Yeah the spot fires have been a constant management issue for me this year. There hasn't been anything really untoward but as I explained before the game on Saturday - that ill disciplined stuff costs you in so many ways, both directly (turnovers, 25m penalties, suspensions, benched players) but also indirectly (exerted energy, lower morale, break down of structure).

I actually went through a math exercise with them (first time in MPFC history :D) worked out with them that it's costing us about 3 goals a game, added up what that would mean for our percentage and therefore ladder position. We went from 6th to 4th.

There is a line and even a time and place for a bit of niggle, our guys are learning where and how that works.

Not sure how you are keeping Wilson in the reserves either? He would be the best small fwd in 6reserves and could cause headaches in the Agrade, is very difficult to match up on.

Very talented, but plays basketball on training nights. Plus this is his first year with us and all of the blokes he knows play with me. Old mate Tom has his eye on him though don't you worry.

Yeah 63 goals must've all been from free kicks hey.

No doubt he is a very good player and probably could be on more if he kicked a little straighter, but he is certainly a protected specie. I've never seen a bloke get so many soft free kicks in my life. Loves to milk a free kick or 10

As a forward line player i love it when i get free kicks. So no hate on him from me a good forward line player milks everything for what it is worth :)

My tip is Mitchell Hills for 5th spot..

But, such a massive game this week. If we can get it together and win then we are a chance of holding onto 5th, otherwise MP will have all the momentum going its way and would be hard to tip against them for it.

Could come down to round 18 TOS v Mawson Lakes also, that would be a cracking way to end the minor round..

Nah TOS and ML will fight it out. Our draw gets considerably harder from here on out.

but srs.

We would start favourite in maybe one more game for the year, and even that's a 50/50.
