Dreaming Stark.
Wet conditions.
Farms are good but the weather will play a big part.
8 goal is very far stretched.
Different breed you umps.

You got lucky, being a smart arse and Ingle Farm were fortunate to run into an under strength Rosewater who were missing the best part of a dozen blokes over A/B grade.

You know what is interesting? There is a definite medium level correlation when looking at the ladder position vs players available in a 5km catchment after cannibalism.

In other words, after every club has taken its fair share of local players, the amount available to each club has an statistical impact on their ladder position.

Angle Vale, is dead last, with only 97.87 players available within 5km after all the neighbouring clubs have taken theirs

I can see how more areas with a more dense catchment areas would have greater numbers and therefore opportunities, but don't think it's directly affecting ladder position or results.

Take Ingle Farm as a prime example - with the exception of the last 18 months, the club has struggled to be competitive for the best part of 7 or so years.

I dont know if its just a coincidence with D6 right now. Or if its a pattern across all divisions. And I couldn't be bothered typing all the ladder positions into a spreadsheet to benchmark.

Of course correlation doesn't equal causation, but it is interesting and does make some semblance of sense, especially when you also consider there is also a correlation between what division you're in and how many players are local.

hahah, if anyone questions me on it I probably will. And I have to play tomorrow so need to rest.

So no one question me, just trust the data and then everyone will be happy.

I think there would be a greater correlation between those clubs with good junior programs - particularly higher grade team eg 14's-18's - than those without in terms of ladder position

Once again using Ingle Farm as an example, we have something like 9 current u/18's players in the A/B grade, and several players who have come through the junior system in recent seasons.

Football is a game played by the dextrous, but only understood by the pointdexterous.
