based on how teams have played against us this is how i see it,not in any order

West Croydon (best forward set up,hard to match up on)
Salisbury West (Lots of runners, defence maybe their achilles heel, won 3 games by under a goal)
Plympton (not sure here, inconsistent but with Smith and Vanderhaak should make it)

Rosewater (inconsistent but their best was brilliant when they smashed us)
Brahma Lodge(definitely got the talent, bellman was huge loss. lost 3 games by under a goal)
Adelaide Lutheran(great depth, good midfield Miegel would have been the icing on the cake)
North Haven (recruited really well, need Eagles back. Good forwards, and used ball well)
Woody Souths (6 games at home to come, some really exciting players.need cattermole fit and firing
Lockleys(caught them with injuries so cant really judge, but have been good so far.

Just my assessment so dont take it personally ;)

good assesment i reckon...
your top 3 is spot on imo..
bottom 3 will by imo will be HV, BL and Lockleys. not in any order.

Can anyone from Woodville Sth care to explain how Wardy was given third best for your B Grade in the paper today?? We sat a bloke on him yesterday and he would of been lucky to have touched the ball five times and played in the guts all day. Was also told he is leading the saafl player of the year award. Now I can see why!!

Ditto Cossi, im getting married early next year, the one request to the mrs was to be outside of footy season!

Thankfully my mrs was there to witness a reception a few years ago at the lakes hotel on the same night as the crows pies semi in 08 i think it was......the blokes (and some women) were so absorbed by the game that at least 3 qtrs of the guests spent the best part of 3 hours after the meal by the big screen watching the game.....at that moment she knew not to have it during footy season if she wanted the attention on her for the whole day

No wedding in footy season, you just go on cruises instead

Not a good way to end the first half of the season for us with 3 losses across all 3 grades, well played Adelaide Lutheran.

In staying that though if someone was to stay at the start of the season your A's are going to be 4th, your B's 3rd and your C's 1st on the D5, D5R and C5 ladders after round 9, I think the club would take it.

From what I heard about the C grade, AL were alot fitter, ran more and had much better skills than our boys. Disappointing for the C grade to lose but nevertheless for them to be 7 and 1 at the half way point is a fantastic effort.

For us the in the B grade, it was a good match I thought, it was close all day until the last quarter where AL kicked 4 goals in the last 10-15 minutes to run away with it. Our ball use and execution into and inside our forward half let us down and cost us dearly.

In the A grade, our boys started slowly and were playing catchup for the rest of the game as AL mantained a 4-5 goal lead for most of the game. The boys dug deep in the last quarter and threw everything at AL getting within a goal but unfortunately the boys ran out of time and AL were able to hold on for a good win.

Catch, I found it quite funny and was quite shocked yesterday when my mate told me that our coaching staff thought you were going to play. Was that a bag of 8 for you in the Jets C grade yesterday and 7 the week before? Seems like you've still got it mate (36 goals for the year), you're too good for C4 footy, should still be playing A's at AL!

Postby The Dark Knight » Sun Jun 05, 2011 3:11 pm

I've had a look at the ladder, the results and crunched some numbers and have decided to do a little review of the Div. The Div has been very even so far, it's be a great first half of season 2011.

1st- West Croydon- 16 Pts, 8 wins 1 loss.
For 1073 (1st, 119.2 points per game) Against 833 (3rd, 95.6 points per game)

The absolute standout so far this season, have gone from strength to strength since being premoted. Amazingly still have there key frowards in Bryant and Stubberfield to return from injury. Look to be getting better.

Better Players- Woodcock, Davies, A Birch, Cooper, Loffler.

2nd Salisbury West- 16 Pts, 8 wins 1 Loss.
For 867 (6th, 96.3) Against 762 (1st, 84.7)

Along with WC have also been a standout. They have surprised me with how well they've travelled. A very quick, skillfull side with a good blend of youth and experince.

Better Players- Woodrow, Clark, McIntyre, Benz, Davies.

3rd Plympton- 8 Pts, 4 wins 5 losses.
For 955 (2nd, 106.1) Against 870 (5th, 96.7)

Wow, what a turn around by the Red Dogs. Gone from looking at possible relugation to now being in finals contention. Look to be playing with more freedom now and are returning to the form that's see them play D5 finals over the last 4 years. JC resigning was just what Plympton needed.

Better Players- Smith, Roach, Van Der Haak, Deer, Howard.

4th North Haven- 8 Pts, 4 wins 5 losses.
For 845 (7th, 93.9) Against 782 (2nd, 86.9)
We've improved out of sight and to be 4th after getting the opportunity to stay up is a great effort. There is still heaps to improve on for us, inconsistancy is the biggest issue facing our boys.

Better Players- McCulloch, Eldridge, Mooney, Reed, Kolbig.

5th Rosewater- 8 Pts, 4 wins 5 losses.
For 874 (4th, 97.1) Against 847 (4th, 94.1)

Started the season off in great form but have lost there last 4 to drop back to the pack. Depth looks to be an issue for Rossies as they can't afford to lose players through injury or absance (as it showed yesterday).

Better Players- Mattner, Vines, Rumblelow, Shaun Jacobson, Tahey.

6th Adelaide Lutheran- 8 Pts, 4 wins 5 looses.
For 869 (5th, 96.6) Against 892 (7th, 99.1)

Started the season slowly but have found their feet and are now building towards finals quite well. Could surprise by making the 5. Have a gun pick up in Ty Allen and look to have covered the loss of Miegel.

Better Players- Allen, Edwards, Koenig, Bevan.

7th Woodville South- 8 Pts, 4 Wins 5 Losses.
For 678 (10th, 75.3) Against 927 (9th, 103)

Still rebuilding after being relegated last season and are travelling ok. Playing well in patches but those patches might not be good enough for the Cats to snee into the 5 come finals time.

Better Players- Clifford, T Sumner, Cattermole, Shreeve, McNeil.

8th Brahma Lodge- 6 Pts, 3 wins 6 losses.
For 904 (3rd, 100.5) Against 948 (10th, 105.3)

Consistancy looks to be the issue that's troubling BL at the moment and replacing the players they've lost looks to have been a hard task. Find themselves a chance of being relegated.

Better Players- Groover, Hayes, McIntyre, Leigh, Aloisi.

9th Hope Valley- 6 Pts, 3 wins 6 losses.
For 823 (8th, 91.4) Against 886 (6th, 98.4)

I honestly never saw the start to the season HV has had coming. Really struggled early being 0 and 4 after round 4 but have regained some form winning 3 from their last 5.

Better Players- Jones, Duggan, Franger, Dipalma

10th Lockleys- 6 Pts, 3 wins 6 losses.
For 783 (9th, 91.4) Against 924 (8th, 102.7)

Have struggled to find form and have been very inconsistant since coming up from Div 6 and could possibly drop straight back down. The players they lossed after last season look to be hurting them a fair bit. Martinello is a gun but can't do it all on his own, needs his mates to come to the party more often.

Better Players- Martinello, Stormonth, Georgiou, Hall.

On top of that here's my ladder I put up at the start of the season. I was very wrong about WC and HV!

1. Hope Valley
2. Salisbury West
3. Plympton
4. Brahma Lodge
5. Rosewater
6. North Haven
7. Wodville South
8. West Croydon
9. Adelaide Lutheran
10. Lockleys

I think lutherans will make the 5 and possibly do some damage.
Ty has been a massive pick up! He trained with us for the last 3 years so wouldn't have taken as long to fit in as other recruits - is in the best each week!
Forward line seems dangerous with multiple options, Rowan Miegel is an absolute star - but was crucified by midfield and defence kicking it on his head all day.
even tho he would still take 20+ marks a game!
this year seems they have diff options and the opposition don't know who will kick the goals.
Zobes has also found his feet and knows all his players... watch Doggies in 2nd half of year!
such a close comp after top 2 tho, quite incredible!
I think: WC, SW, Plympton, AL and HV might sneak in

We sat a bloke on him yesterday and he would of been lucky to have touched the ball five times and played in the guts all day. Was also told he is leading the saafl player of the year award. Now I can see why!!

Wardy is a good footballer.
.

Never said he couldn't play. We heard he could thats why we shut him down. That's why I was surprised such a good player got third best when he hardly touched the footy all day!

Yes he may have barely touched the footy all day but one thing i can guarantee is that wardy would have tried hard all game and battled hard. That is perhaps why. I can understand why he is leading the player of the year award because i have seen him in every game.
