I'm a Plympton player and would like to apologize for this act as it's not something you would expect from a player from our club.

The rest of the game was quite good and Plympton don't deserve to be disgraced as a club because of this. As blackadder has said (thanks mate) the rest of the team were very disappointed with the incident.

If it is the player ive been told it is he has been sniping for years and Plympton should have sorted him out years ago. He has been discussed on this forum previously for his cowardly acts.

He finally got caught doing it did he? Normally he waits till no one's looking, including the player he hits. Hope they throw the book at him

Our boundary umpire reported him cause he saw the incident but none of the two umpires could see considering it was right in front of plymptons umpire. Also, to the plympton B grade coach, smarten up buddy you dont go upto a 14 year old kid who is running the boundary and abusive him and use offensive language.. if your truly that low i would hope the club shows u the door.

If it is this player deserves to be kicked out of the Amateur league it is players like this that give the sport a bad name.. All the league should do is look at the injuries sustained and it should be an automatic 5-6 week ban.. Cant people get away with it. It has happened before in round 1 against Brahma Lodge when one of our players was king hit however no injury and the player got off..

If No. 26 gets off the SAAFL needs to take a long hard look at themselves cause they are an embarrassment.

Terrible state of affairs if that boy is as injured as suggested.

I used to play for a club who implemented a plan that if any of their players were reported and subsequently suspended for say 3 games, the club would suspend you from playing for another 3 games for a total of 6 and I reckon they still do it but could be wrong.

When I think back now, we were a very very well behaved football team and won our share of premierships in the process so there's no correlation between winning on the field and behaving like thugs in fact it probably has the reverse effect not to mention the damage to a club's reputation though it sounds as if the Plympton people are as equally appalled.

Hope he gets plenty.

I heard that when he left the ground he had a suspected broken jaw and they reckon there might have been some neck injuries whether they are serious or not i am not sure.. Not only does it affect him playing footy it affects all aspects of his life. Thats why it angered me so much..

We are ashamed mate and i agree he deserves watever he gets. I believe he should never be allowed to play again!
I saw the event close up and it made me embarrased to be a plympton person.
I wish the guy that was hit all the best and hope that this event does not effect his future in football negatively.

However I watched all games and other than this, there were no other disgraceful acts, just plenty of niggle as expected!

The victim has a crcked eye socket and 20 stitches in his face. Still under observation.

We will lose players from lower grades due to these idiots. How many of you out there can afford to be hit behind play, miss a week or two of work, pay thousands of dollars in medical bills, ambulance fees (if you're not covered) and would like to have permanent facial scarring.

A clumsy elbow causing this damage would fetch you 8-10 weeks. A punch behind play, with intent to cause bodily harm is surely worth a lot more.

Had i have been a Police Officer watching that incident i would not have hesitateed to press criminal charges.

Ruining the game.

Doesn't look like there has been a report placed for this according to the SAAFL website.

So if it ends up coming under investigation, I'd suggest everyone keep their stories and their opinions on this matter to themselves.

If the report has been made my a club umpire (or boundary) then it will not be received until Monday.

Now the victim will miss the res of the season and a week or two of work, have scarring on his face for a lifetime so I am interested to hear the punishment handed out by the tribunal.

Umpires did all they could and were alright on the day. Besides this incident it was a good game.

Thanks Doctor, do we have to pay for that prognosis, or do you bulk bill?

I'd had a couple of drinks during the day and wasn't aware of the magnitude of the incident when that response was sent. Woodville South reps on here have recieved a PM from me re the incident.

Bad call Jabber. Looks like everyone on here does know the offending bloke and I hope they throw the book at him. These type of incidents make me sick.

For once we agree on something Jugs, actually two things! 1) bad call and 2) now that I know who it is I hope they throw the book at him too, the only thing a club gets if it defends acts like that is a bad rep.

Not to my recollection DKL. There were a few scuffles in the 3rd quarter but no reports were made.
