just a quick query, how is the scoreboard have us as a draw, then the timekeeper and officials have plympton for a 1 point win.
how did the come up with the draw bein a result? surely you'd go by the official before a scoreboard attentand.
im not accusing anyone, im just curious how they came to the result which transpired.

We have young kids doing the scoreboard and sometimes they accidently miss a behind by mistake. I don't really know mate, things were very chaotic, there was heaps of arguing and discussion as all the officals and timekeeper tried to workout the result, to which they agreed the game was a draw.

Great game of footy in ordinary conditions,Plympton got smashed in the ruck due to not having a recognised ruckman on the day and IMO that was the difference in the game. Full credit to North Havens fighting spirit as Plympton lead by reasonable margins at different stages of the game but couldnt kill em off! Poor finish though, pretty ridiculous actually! There was even some talk of a shootout??? lol
Wish there was because it deserved a winner

That's ok mate. Yeah unfortunately that happens, everyone makes mistakes. I think making the game a draw was the best thing to do under the circumstances.

So was it actually a draw or was it awarded a draw because they could not agree on a final score ?

Gee, Plymptons 2nd decision by umpire deliberation..the boys would be getting a few grey hairs over there

Ours ended up being decided by both goal umpires and the timekeeper, who also keeps score- no doubt that's how yours should have been decided as well.

How did it finish FC? HV goal on the siren, who kicked it?
was Big row Miegel out running water, or more likely having a couple of quiet ones? He would have been handy :(

Nah catch, I think fc is referring to our game v plympton when the umps had to deliberate after the game to declare us winners when the original result was a draw. Yesterday, the winning goal was kicked with about 15 seconds to go.

But we had number 2 that's all that matters. I'm sure number 44 was handy and number 8 was also worth a mention

Brett Aldridge must have thought it was his birthday yesterday, the opposing wingman didnt go within 30 metres of him all day.

Matty Leigh was fantastic, great to see him not let the investigation that's been hanging over his head affect his footy. He was a general all day. Was Matty Leigh wearing No 6 or No 8?????? Better check..... and as much as I hate to admit it, that pest Groover wasnt too bad.

Catch, luthies led all day and had a 20 point advantage at 3/4 time. We got it back to 2 pts then you steadied with 2 goals to get it out to 14 pts with 8 mins remaining only to see the Valleys kick the last 3 goals of the match. The winning goal came from an unreal back tap from our ruckman onto the rovers chest and he kicked a very good goal from 35 metres. Siren sounded with the sherrin probably 25 metres from your goals. As I said to Zobes the best team lost both encounters us at hope valley in round 4 and you guys yesterday.Important win for us on the road and a gut wrencher for you guys but thats this season so unpredictable. pretty happy to see rowie having a beer instead of playing I must admit :D ps good luck for the rest of the year

Didn't tag him from the start, but after 5 mins you could see the influnce he was having. Kicked a goal and had a lot touches, so we put a hard tag on him and influnce was very limited. Our best player was the person we gave the job to stop him, i think if you can shut down the best player from any team it goes a long way to winning the game.

I was standing pretty close when they were working it out, it was my understanding that the time keeper hd the score at 17.9 each, one goal umpire had 17.9 each and the other goal umpire had 17.9 to 17.8

Well done to Plympton yesterday, they played a great game kept coming at us when we were up as did Havens when we were down.

SAAFL should be questioned on their decision to send 2 umpires from another league to this game as it was a debacle, I haven't seen or will ever see another performance as poor as this.

5 of the 6 yellow cards were absurd and the 4 consecutive free kicks to give Plympton the lead were entirely fabricated by the umpire.

Am taking nothing away from Plympton, they are a good bunch of lads and gave just as much as we did, if we meet in the finals it will be a massive game.

I seen the westies v lodge game and you blokes are right it was a cracker game pre-game i thought it would be westies by a bit but then the weather hit and it was always going to be a slog plus the history of these 2 club. For mine if i was picking the best on the ground it would be ALIOSSI from lodge by a long way he was fantastic although i dont think he had a player on him all day which confused me.

I didnt think it was a dirty game there were 2 big hits that resulted in both players taken no futher part in the game but as i said VANDERLANDS hit early in the game and WOODROWS hit later on were just both fair hip'n'shoulders that just happen to end these blokes day early.

for mine brahmas best- ALIOSSI,ALDRIDGE,LEIGH,PATTERSON
and westies best- WOODROW,STEELE,HAYTHORP and number 14 red headed bloke down back

would love to see these to sides play on a dry day would be a great display of footy.
