There are only a few worth taking, and probably only one who might warrant some serious incentive.

Considering they're looking at D4, D5 and D6 clubs closer to Fitzroy, you might be a little off the radar for them..

What a load of shit.. Haven't contacted a single player.
I do have the phone number for one player though, but haven't contacted him.
Only really one player that is if interest to lure back to Ingle Farm and that's Matty Travis, but he hasn't wanted to come back every other year I've spoken to him, can't see it changing now lol.
The Bedge wrote:Honestly, we form a list of players to try and target each year, that we require to fill a need - eg KPP.
Then we try and prioritise and form a list sorted in this order:
1) Minimal points - either returning players or fringe A graders.
2) Highest Division to Lowest.
Players running around D6 and D7 are not high on the priority list - if at all.. except a few Salisbury West kids who are Ingle Farm juniors we would be happy to have come home.
Our footy budget is not very big, we rely heavily on player retention and guys playing with mates or for the love of the club - hence why most of our A grade this year were former jnrs. If we are going to explore paying a bloke, we are going to try and target a bigger fish from a bigger pond - not a good player from an average team in an ordinary division.
We didn't even pay Grae Grant this year and he's probably one of the best players we have had sign in recent years.. Shit the B grade coach gets paid a $12 meal voucher FFS!
carey wrote:Probably just the players talking themselves up then, as they claimed Ingle Farm have been in contact with them. They're not the first players to do so and definitely wont be the last! No harm done, play on.
Coaches probably aren't doing there job if they don't contact new players.

To be fair, he lost a bet
