Interesting game at Plympton this arvo with Flinders wearing their away guernsey (mostly white). Hard to understand then why Plympton would have white shorts with Flinders wearing red, central and boundary umpires in white and the Plympton water guy wearing his guernsey inside out (white).
Umpires had a few ' handball receives' in the b grade.
Can't see the point in it all really.

Flinders Park at home this week? The ground is almost grass less at the moment, basically all mud and looks almost unplayable from what I see on my way past each morning.

The worst I've seen it in my 20 years associated with the club.

No we're at Golden Grove. We've been told we can't train this week.

We have a gym session tonight to give our oval a rest. No juniors on it this weekend is a blessing too.

Saw I was in D3 and naturally assumed that was Mitcham.

Far out.

Surely a club gets to a point before their oval gets to this stage and they cancel training or move them elsewhere.
And dont tell me that isn't an option because every club has to manage their deck during wet years!

The SAAFL should be asking for a please explain, as that is a disgrace!

so the players & coaching staff bust their arses to finish high on the ladder, earn the right to host a final, but could possibly lose home ground advantage, because of the ground condition, opposition have the right to inspect the ground on the Thursday before the game.finals are only 4 weeks away.

You lot for real? Its been a winter sport for years and grounds have been like that, worse and better. may as well put a roof over every oval. Unbelievable.

This. It only takes 30mm rain and two games on Saturday to turn some grounds into what is pictured.

How could it be? There is a tinge of green grass in the picture. Mitcham's Price Memorial is nothing but sloppy mud with no grass able to survive

Shit, Bridgewater aside I haven't seen a ground in that sort of condition in a very long time.

If every oval was like that then sure, no worries. The fact that this is the worst of all we've seen, and by a reasonable margin, shows they haven't managed their oval appropriately.
