I just found out on Facebook that John Corbett had been sacked, I'm not completely suprised, there were a few gunning for his head a year ago, I think a GF spot and moving up a Div are the only things that saved his job then.

If it is true that John was not allowed to address the players then that is a low act, I hope that was his decision and not the committees.

Personally I think John is an exceptional coach and will be snapped up by someone next year, I would be suprised if either of his sons ever go back to Rutland Ave after this and I wonder if the committee thought about the possibility of losing Mark Naley as well.

There was a lot of hurt at LFC over some decisions made at junior level that have wounds that are still healing, in my opinion this will take far longer for the club to recover from. Unless a new coach can attract some quality players Div 6 might be a struggle in 2012 as well

I was just told that John did not ask to speak to the players and just walked straight out after being informed

Just told they had a round table with the players and committee last night to give the players a chance to air their concerns, spill their guts etc., allegedley the players had very little to say.

anyone know who will be coaching them this week? they were always going to find it difficult this year after losing three very good players, might be a bit of a stretch to blame the coach for sitting bottom, especially in such an even division

Shhh pipe down you lot! Just jealous you were forward thinking enough! Anyway nothing wrong with dangling a carrot! If you'd just come up from Div 6 to go straight back down and a good club offered you a life line, why not take it.

Don't venture in here too often, but this has caught my interest as my son plays Juniors at the club.

Dee Man is right superboot. Poor form.

Because if the player had any self-pride, he would take more satisfaction trying to lead a club toward the d6 flag in 2012 than appear weak by hopping ship when the going gets tough.

That's as low as it gets. Port Power aren't even lower than that...

Hopefully there are some strong leaders within the Lockleys playing group that can rally the players to at least see out this season. At the end of the day, you play for each other and that is what makes footy great. Enjoy the footy that is left in the season and make the hard decisions in September when most of the emotion has died down.
