Lurking FB last night as is the norm when bored these days.. must say was really disappointed to stumble across a post a friend shared which informed the Mitchell Park clubrooms were broken into over the break and they flogged the 2012 premiership match ball from the trophy cabinet.

Pretty poor form by whomever did it, hope that MP get it back ok!

I also saw this, i'd be making phone calls to every single person on the team sheet that day.

I really hope they get it back and in once piece.

Did they get the footy back morell, after they broke his kneecaps. Maybe he should do some community service in the change rooms at the Den.

Marion are out offering B grade footballer from the Lions good $$$$$$ I've heard locally. Why would any club try and recruit B grade players?

I believe that every player at marion is been offered a contract.
If they are picked in the a grade side that week they are paid $$$, if not then they are not paid.
So really all they are doing is signing bloke up for 2017

I'd hazard a guess most of our reserves players are leaving under the impression they're getting coin.

getting coin IF you play A grade..thats a fairly normal system that 99.9% of clubs would use i suggest..

I doubt any of the players that left would even know who Jimmy is, let alone any remuneration he may or may not be getting.

The point is these players have been recruited under the impression they'll be playing A Grade and getting paid. If that doesn't occur I'd say that is pretty unfair on them.

That's reasonably common practice at a number of clubs. Promise 35 blokes cash if they play A Grade. One morally dubious way of getting yourself a bit of instant depth.

This was also likely slightly more rampant pre TPPS

No one is guaranteed an A grade game.
If they are good enough to play in the 1s then they will get paid.
Im sure they didnt leave think are getting paid no matter what!

C'mon Dutchy you know that answer......I don't know what your beef is with Jimmy?? Did you speak to him and he decided to come to us? The fact of it is Jimmy is a mate of mine and whilst he may be getting a small incentive, its a lot less than he has been offered elsewhere.

As opposed to some of our Reserves players who to be honest have never been offered any coin before. A guy who played D6 Reserves getting offered multiple hundreds a game is absurd and irresponsible.

One player is getting massive unders, the others are getting massive overs. Its not hard mate.
