Congratulations to Houghton on what they've achieved this season - it's a massive credit to all involved in the club, from the bottom to the top. Particularly happy for former Ingle Farm premiership player and A grade captain Dan Bryant, and premiership player Adam Fiedler.
They've been knocking on the door for a number of years now, it's awesome to see them get back up to D6, but aside from that, they've build a wonderful Junior program to go with their strong senior setup. They still sell good wine as well.
Wish them well for Saturday - obviously I want my club to win - but none the less, I hope the day goes smoothly and great football is on display for people to watch and realise that D7 has developed and improved drastically over the past 10yrs.
On our club, well we have achieved nothing, but it's pleasing to have moved out of D7 and made our stay short. The real work starts now, as I wrote start of the year I want to have the club higher than D7 and D6 with stability and sustainability - not yo-yoing - and to have a healthy jnr program... that still remains the primary focus.
