I assume you are talking about the para hills game here... I Don't know what was said, and im not sure it was match turning... but that ball was definitely doing different things than normal. Kicks 40 meteres were bouncing on the point and going back 5-10 meters. But the ball felt perfect. Was very odd!!!!

That WILL happen if the kick has enough elevation in it

Thanks for that physics lesson.

These balls didnt have the elevation required to make it normal. Which i thought was obvious...

I've encountered this while umpiring, as soon as I got given the ball I said to the official that the ball didn't seem right, he laughed at me and shook his head as he walked off.
There were shitloads of behinds kicked and plenty of turnovers by foot, the players kept wanting to examine the ball but there appeared to be nothing wrong with it, it played plenty of tricks.

Sounds like a regular game with a Burley for you.

My balls are often elevated in this wintry weather, it's quite normal.

Yep, they are poop, they sometimes resemble a soccer ball.

Outstanding team performances by CBC in both the A and B grade today at Dolphin Park.
Our B's keep plugging away and having a crack with numerous changes every week impacting on their ability to settle and play as a stable team.
Our A's have a bit of reflecting and thinking to do after their display today.
This division has really tightened up.

Not the best result for Elizabeth on the weekend.
A strange game that started with the Eagles three goals up, only to be four down by half-time.
Elizabeth surged and hit the front late in the final quarter, only for Greenies to kick a winner over the head of their eccentric goal umpire with less than a minute left.

Full credit to Greenacres for taking part in our after-match past-players presentation. In both games, Greenies stayed on the oval with our players to watch the presentation of Past Players Day BOG medals to our players, thanks for that.
We announced a B grade medal this year, which was named in honour Kev, Col and Sam Harrison, who have played around 700 senior games for the club between them.

And...great to see Webby still running around for Greenies, as someone of a similar vintage, I'm slightly envious that he's still playing and doing it so well.

Hanson is such a gun to have up forward. Feel confident everytime you kick it to him that he will either mark or bring it to the crumbers.

Very good pick up and you are right, starting to hit his best footy and we know he has more to come which is great!

Strong one grab mark with a nice leg, great to watch on a dry day.

Some important games in the overall scheme of things today with Rosewater and Pulteney getting the job done over CLG and Para Hills respectively and BOS getting over Elizabeth after giving up a 40 odd point head start to the Eagles.

5 rounds to go and it will be tough for Greenacres, Pulteney and Elizabeth to make the top 5 with the first 2 needing to make up 3 wins and percentage and Elizabeth needing to make up 2 wins and percentage.

As for the top 5 anything can happen here as there are a few key fixtures between these teams -

Rd 14 - CBC v Rosewater at CBC
Rd 15 - BOS v Rosewater at BOS
Rd 17 - Para Hills v CLG at CLG
Rd 18 - CBC v Para Hills at CBC

Some big upsets this weekend Greenacres being beaten at home by Adelaide Lutheran really hurts any aspirations they had of sneaking into the finals and was a massive win for Adelaide Lutheran as they fight on trying to get out of the relegation zone. They must have thought by winning today they would have closed the gap on Pulteney. Then Pulteney knock of probably the in form team in the competition in Para Hills. This result would arguably be the biggest upset of the year in Div5 nobody would have picked the private school boys from the parklands to beat the tough nuts from hills. Then we have CLG being beaten by what had been a struggling Rosewater.

Do we put the results down to the weather or is this division the most even in the league?
