A reliable source has told me Haven have offered Bird $400 a game to defect. Could this be to replace the expected departure of Hood and co ? Hmmm....something to think about......

Maybe you can ask Birdy about the Portland ruckman when he comes out to your training Thursday night, Fisty ?
Too early to calling best teams yet mate, only played 3 of them - of those 3, Pooraka was the better one, obviously.

True Fisty, this is the D4 forum, but it also seems to be a cess-pool of rumours and innuendo, and alot of game playing. Mind you, thats why i like it

Boys lets stop with this teasing, someone explain to me how on earth Bird could get a clearance (even if he wanted one) to play for Nth Haven? Especially seeing as though they are in the same div? Not going to happen, Bird will not leave Portland in 07 although if he's getting big offers, he is a young lad with a lot of footy left in him and Im sure the money will make his eyes roll back in his head..

He'd only get a clearance if A) he is financial B) Has not played a senior game at Portland in 2007
This being said, the league has made similar clearances previously but this is on a case by case basis so he'd need to show a damn big reason and have a good strong tie to Nth Haven.
Personally I just cant see it happening - Bird wouldnt leave and if he did (for whatever reason) the league would probably stand by Portland FC and not clear him - but Flech would your mob hold him up if he wanted a clearance?

FM, if he wanted to go, what good would it do to stop him, as long as the club wasnt financially disadvantaged. I know Birdy can handle himself, but it would be good to see how he went with 21 blokes wanting to have a crack at him.
