PAYNEHAM NORWOOD UNION (or PNU for those that can't get our name right  )

are into week 3 of "Camp Sponge" - run by Scott Direen - a once a week, non compulsory session which includes a stretch, a run and a smidgeon of ball skills (subject to having balls to play with*). Other than that not much happening...until November!

the blacks have started as well in their endeavour to get back to div 1 but look forward to the challenge that div 2 will present as there are some handy sides running around.
does this mean that the c1 team of uni heads into c2 this year - if so, looking forward to meeting my old alma mater of pnu and flogging the raggies again.

How are you looking at this stage Finn. Regardless of dropping a grade, Div 2 looks like the closest thing we've had to an old Collegiate comp for some time, throw in ROCS, SPOC and PAOC and there would be a real old school tie flavour.

Athelstone has signed Stephen Carr for 2008 as coach & is in the process of recruiting/ signing some very talented players in the next few days.

Scott Hodges has quit as coach at Seaton Ramblers - How good a pick up he would be, if anyone got his signature as coach next year. His record speaks for it self.

Its a shame Athelstone had already signed a coach for 2008 because Hodgey would be the ideal coach to take athelstone to Div 2 in 2008.

Thank god Athelstone are out of div 3 - Has anyone seen the sides playing in that grade next year.

I love it FC when you call me your mate.
Not much to tell you FC initial stories suggest it may not be footy related. What ever the case, Hodgy will be sorely missed a very good coach and will leave big shoes to fill for the next coach.

Hard to say about possible recruits or players leaving. Would think the majority of the squad will be staying and I'm sure the club will try and recruit to improve the depth of the club.

So Humpty Dumpty wasn't pushed? Didnt think that would be the case anyway...

If previous years are anything to go buy it looks like Portland and Districts will have ripper teams next year then?
