marbles wrote:Well the season is over for us boys. It was a good game yesterday. Fairly disheartening but hey thats finals footy for you. Umpiring was fairly average. Some pretty big (wrong) decissions made late in the game with a 25 from an angle in the pocket putting him right on the line. He slotted it through which lost us the game realy. The Roy boys should gime some stick next week if they play like they did against us. Should see them go probably all the way.

Even some Pulteney t0$$ bags came to the game and in there ultimate wisdom arrogantly walked through our huddle near the change rooms and gave us crap. Very smart when you have 40 odd port adelaide blokes angry and upset. He got a mouthful from us and it was done. Still reckon he is a wa_ka. Godd i hope they get smashed every week in C5.

Good Luck in the finals Punky.

Marbles your blokes maybe disappointed but they can still hold their heads high as they fought the game out right to the end in a very entertaining afternoon of footy with a big crowd on hand watching supporting both sides!
Good luck in 09!

Well... Adelaide University too good today- by far.
Some real question marks over some of our blokes- fly the white flag at the drop of a hat.
We disintegrated today, & it was not pretty to watch.

I will bitch about the umpires (note 1. Adelaide University superior side 2. Fitzroy were extremely undisciplined)-
having Div 1 Umpires umpire C grade just doesn't work. They virtually punish sides for not being skilfull enough. We definately made a rod for our own backs by turning them against us early, with back chat & silly play.

Adelaide Uni have a young athletic side, & are the envy of all clubs in SAAFL, due to their inexhaustable depth.
Their ability to hit targets with or without the breeze was superb.

Sorry to hear about the loss PR. Uni are a great outfit that is certain and their depth is unquestionable. Its amazing the gap between the competition. It will be good to see how they and PAC go in the higher division.

Every game that we have played against your team PR we have noticed your discipline so it would be disapointing from a coaches perspective what happend against uni.
Well done on a great year PR and good luck next year.

thanks PR & Marbles.
Uni won't go up though, as Portland & the winner of the A grade Prelim final go up, taking their B's & C's with them.
Salisbury & Salisbury West will drop down with their B's & C's.
Golden Grove & the winner of the Prelim final (i'll tip Greenacres) will come up.
I'm tipping a Mitcham v Uni GF.

Highlight of the year: Beating Mitcham at home
Lowlight of the year: The way some players & supporters conducted themselves in the 1st Semi loss

Marbles, I'm still sore from the Portland game! i got belted from one end of the ground to the other in that game!

You and me both. Both blokes that stood against me in the C's came up and played in the B's. Not the best feeling getting done by both grades from the same club but hey I'll try and make up for it next year. I'll still write to you though Punk. . I still think you guys will be the team to beat next year if you can take some things away from this year.

its time for frankie to go punk - he threw away a chance to make a difference by trying to belt a bloke not once but twice both times in front of umpires - very undisciplined then to have (i think) #6's dad want to have a go at half time was just nonsense. you guys were found out on a larger oval - won't be the first or last side to lose to a young uni side on the rather large park 10.
the umpires were probably too technical for the grade but adjustments had to be made by both sides - and backchatting will amp them up more.
good luck in 09.
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much

It's certainly not something our club is proud of- I believe our club will address these issues at Board level.

I really can't comment on anything prior to meeting with the committee, but I recall we made a decision to match any suspensions the tribunal hands out...

Maybe you should also get rid of that boundry ump that reported the so called kicking incident at our game PR. He didnt rock up for the 2nd week in a row and then one of your delegates went spare at his cause. The charge was thrown out in the end. We were told that the bloke is a dead set t0$$ bag and is not even wanted at the club. Give him a life ban. No one saw the alleged offence and want him to leave your club. Just a waste of the clubs time and makes you blokes look a bit silly.

Marbles & Felch,

The "boundary umpire" was the same bloke sledging me from the sidelines Sunday, because 1 of his sons got dropped, & the other was on the bench.
He rates his kids way too highly, & is a major factor in their attitude problems.

It's not my decision, or for me to make, without consulting the committee, but his behaviour is not what the club wants or needs, & I'd be extremely surprised to see him at Fitzroy (even as a spectator) next year.

By the way, your player was reported for "kicking"- the "victim" was?
His son.
No prob's in helping your bloke get off*

Franky got 5 :?
Casey got 2 :? :?

that's for the committe to decide.
we do take into account whether we feel the original ban was excessive or not, but at the end of the day, it's the committee's decision, not mine.
