SAAFL Player records

I've noticed since the SAAFL went to sportingpulse, the records of players games played/clubs played for/previous season results etc are only reflected for the past two seasons.

Is there anywhere this information can now be found, or will sporting pulse at some stage be updated does anyone know?

transferring this info needs to be done manually and we've been assured that it will get done at some stage during the year but as you can imagine, it's not ultra high on the priority list.

Time for a bump. It's been 2 years now, any idea on when / if this might happen? If not is there any way to get any of this information even if it means going into HQ and grabbing old team sheets?

We did ours manually through going through old team sheets a few years back. Didn't get everyone, but at least the current players know where they stand

if HQ was to allow YOU into their records room, then they would have to let 99 other historians in with the same ideas into their records as well

that would be difficult to monitor, and HQ would riskthe loss of records due historians pocketing a few little goodies here n there on their way out, and jeopardize the data itself

youll get nothin from HQ champ

They only need to provide a copy of the old iScore database. I dont think they are talking about going back more than 10 years.

Can I actually go in and count my own games do you know? I'm moving in to 350 games over three clubs and am keen to know when this actually would be - purely for personal interest - my rough calls has me at 346ish but I'll drink a couple more beers in my shed if I knew the actual game I got there on

Scarily enough looks like this might still be online back to 2004 if someone knows how to re-up the subscription. http://www.metisc.com.au/iscoresn/index.cfm?db=34.

SAAFL have hard copies of all games from way back when Jesus played half-back.
Many moons ago I had to go down there and spend a day photocopying and many days transposing onto a spreadsheet so that we could update all of our player records. Not a fun job, but someone had to do it.
I know of some players that have gone down to take a look through the record themselves in the past.
Like most things, if you give the League a call and ask the question, I think you will find that they can be quite accommodating.

BS :) all league records pre 2000 were burnt in a shed fire :)

And any time within the records room HQ charges $500 per hour and you will be escorted and supervised by a security guard for the duration of your stay :)

We have every player's games record on file since 1951 approx 2500+ players have represented the club since then and a list of every player who played for the club from 1928 - 39 we are only missing 1940-41 & 1946 - 50, when we played in the North Adelaide District Football Association.

Cheers I figured that would be the case. If we can get back to 07 that would be enough to cover all current players I think. Anything past that will need to be done at some point but not as urgent.

Went through the same process with my cricket club about 10 years ago, bit easier as we had the old scorebooks in a shed going back to 1960.

Nah, everyone was too scared to ask you for a copy. The two blokes who had the most to gain from a re-count manually did it themselves

Doesn't everyone keep a notepad in their jock drawer and record each game they play each week?
