- Fitzroy v Brahma. If the Lions can reverse the 10 goal result from the first meeting that will go a long way to playing finals. Brahma can look to do the same with a win, but a loss makes things very interesting..

- Ingle Farm v Trinity. Ingle Farm will look to also reverse the first meetings result, and if they do it should also go a long way to locking them into a finals spot. Given they dropped to WC in the first half of the year, these 2 games will be ear marked by them to rectify early season blunders as they make their charge.. These games are always tight affairs, I would say this will be another one of those

Also, if SW can continue its giant killing ways and get a win against Elizabeth, it completely blows the season wide open..

Imagine the ladder if TOS, Fitzroy and SW all get up this weekend!

22 - Pulteney
14 - Ingle Farm
14 - Elizabeth
14 - Brahma Lodge
14 - Fitzroy
------------------------
14 - Trinity OS
12 - West Croydon
12 - Salisbury West
04 - Mawson Lakes
00 - Houghton

If Eliz, IF and BL all win then it will look like this

22 - Pulteney
16 - Ingle Farm
16 - Elizabeth
16- Brahma Lodge
12 - Fitzroy
------------------------
12 - Trinity OS
12 - West Croydon
10 - Salisbury West
04 - Mawson Lakes
00 - Houghton

I still think Puletney, Ingle Farm and Elizabeth wil be top 3. Brahma, West Croydon, Trinity and Fitzroy fighting for the last two spots

They'll struggle to survive period.

Maybe a merger with SPOS

A merger with Para Hills would make greater sense though - would be a good fit for both clubs if they could work it out.

SPOS that's funny as :D

They might be able to stay in Div 7 again and therefore retain their loyal players

* Pick up the senior playing base, increased depth through A/B grade and enough players to reform a C grade (King , Bennett, Van Den Brink, Ung would be handy).
* Pick up loyal and hard working volunteers.
* Pick up ML Juniors sides (1x U7, 2x U8, 1x U9) which in turn strengthens the PH junior program.
* No ML football base allows for greater targeting/recruitment etc from the ML area.
* Pick up the ML sponsors.
* Increased attendance and revenue at club functions with the added members.

Putting ego aside, it would be a smart move for Para Hills to explore it - Mawson Lakes are dying a slow death, Para Hills would be in the box seat to absorb maximum advantages from it before hand - whereas if Mawson Lakes were to fold, you'd lose all the players and juniors over an array of clubs

You're talking about a takeover, not a merger. What would Para Hills have to give up?

also, did lol at Van Den Brink

Suppose it is more of a takeover lol.

Don't know what PH would have to give up or what they could provide to make it more appealing for ML - that's for them to work out not me :P

Van Den Brink & Power will kiss and make up, everything will be A-Ok.

Where would they play?

I hate the notion of mergers at this level, I couldn't see Para Hills gaining anything out of it at all with their history vs the short lived existence of the MLFC.

At one stage one umpire admitted that he had made a mistake (said a guy ducked, when 10 minutes before he said head was sacred). He didnt give us a feee kick but at least he was honest enough on the field to admit it. I hope we get these blokes every week.

Must have been Trevor Wiegand.

On the subject of umpires, i thought last weeks two were great until Sat just gone. The two umpires we had in our game were sensational, once again great voice to the players and let the game go.
Both umps came into the rooms before the game and introduced themselves to me and then after the game one of the umps took me aside and explained how they have been instructed to umpire our games in relation to holding the ball and protecting the head..
The feedback they gave me about this was great and i was really impressed by both of them, once again hats off to you both.

Gotta reach his 25 free kick per quarter quota. It's not about the 36 players running about.

Hard to believe he used to actually play the game and was half decent, as well.
