They came over here full of confidence, we were going "ok" at best and lost 3 of our 4 frontline bowlers yet all I've read all series is how Trav should be dropped, Trav isn't interested, no one is trying, there's no celebration when we take a wicket, we are shit, we don't try anything, we try doing too much. Just take a few minutes out of the day to appreciate that we've won the series, we're in a dominant position in this match despite all the shit-canning pre-match and since the first session.
We're doing alright for a team that has holes everywhere and needs to improve so much, roll on South Africa to put us to the test.
Agree, the sum of our whole this series has been greater than the sum of the parts.
Yes it's been helped by poor preparation by the POMS before the series and some absolutely mindless cricket by them at times but if good cricket teams know when to dig in and play smart (Boland and Starc at Brisbane, Carey and Head in Adelaide), tactical awareness to make the English change their game (Carey up to the stumps), discipline to bowl the good lines to induce mistakes by England (the bowling attack but especially Starc) and finally seizing the moment and playing attacking purposeful cricket (Head in Perth and last night) we are watching a good Australin team, not great, that deserve to be 3-1 up.
It's all the meritorious when you think we've missed Cummins, Hazelwood and Lyon for the majority of the series.
Change is a-coming but bring it on as with three big series coming up, South Africa, India Jan 2027 and the ASHES Jul/Aug 2027.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
