we must remember the current saffer captain has been found guilty TWICE for ******* with the ball in the last 3 years, 1. rubbing lolly saliva, 2. rubbing the ball against his zipper which is no different to what happened the other day...........just saying

Heard that he has form around this in Victorian cricket circles. Would not surprise.

I was listening to triple m yesterday arvo and they were discussing about the culture of the New Zealand Union team and how they washed out all those who didn't want to respect and stand up to the tradition of what playing for your country means. They discussed how they decided it was time to look at every bloke that was representing the team and see what their integrity was like and they kicked those out that they thought didn't deserve to pull on the KIWI guernsey. I think it's about time we did the same. sO GOOD BYE Smith, Warner, Bancroft, Lyon. It will hurt and take time but we will build on from this.

The ICC's handling of the punishments for these incidents are weak and set no fear into those who think about tampering with the ball. It is illegal to do it so why not have harsher penalties??

The possible loss of millions of dollars in sponsorships will likely be the tipping point where the players realize how their poor decision/actions can affect them.

Bancroft has a reputation in SS for suspicious activities with the ball. Wonder if it has been endorsed by Langer

Maybe this is a little naïve in not believing it is more widespread, but I feel almost as disappointed in the pure petulance.
We all know that each ball behaves little differently** so for them to say "it's not gonna reverse swing, we got a dud, let's do something about" it is sooky petulance on a moral level regardless of the cheating aspect.

**(or at least we've believed this, perhaps each ball behaves exactly the same unless......)

Nah. Got an even better idea. Reduce the amount of money they get paid for playing sport.

What about slipping it down in the junk like Bancroft did. Time to go Ancient Greek?

Reckon I saw a snap of Kyrgios with his mouth closed once, although that was probably taken on a high shutter speed.

Henriques who knows Smith better than I holds the same theory. Makes a damn lot of sense that this may well have been a warner led move with Bancroft more involved than just a patsy. Smith took responsibility as he feels he should and not realising the seriousness of the fallout.

I just can't get my head around Smith being this stupid and arrogant. He is naturally introverted and conservative... Warner on the other hand? Bancroft and Saker also IMO.....
