So from WA's first innings, they received 0.71 points and we received 1.5.
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

Cooper getting some form back that he showed a few years ago, along with the return of Ferguson, makes the Redbacks a pretty strong looking line up. Promising signs!

Batting bonus: .01 for every run above 200 in the first 100 overs of the first innings of each team only

Bowling bonus: 0.5 points for taking wickets 5,7,9 in the first 100 overs of the first innings of each team only

Gives even more incentive to declare early (before they lose 9 or 7 wickets).

Couldn't miss the points, could we?

Aren't first innings points a thing of the past?

Actually not sure, thought there was something for first innings but I think it's more to do with what happens in the first 100 overs in terms of runs/wickets

Qld declared one run past the NSW total

Queensland declared before they lost their 7th wicket and handed NSW more bonus points!

Redbacks will declare some stage after Dinner to hopefully do what WA did last night and get some early wickets.

Last session giving them a bit of tap now. 150 in front with four poles still in the shed
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

No point declaring when the lead is growing like this. Great runs for Cooper, but fantastic to see Carey getting amongst it. Early on, against a solid attack under lights, could set him up for a big year.

160 runs to the good, huge lead. Pile them on, bat as long as you can.

Stumps Day 2
WA 9/271
SA 8/474
Ferguson 101
Cooper 138
Head 66
Carey 79

An amazing 458 in the days play which included 73 FOURS and 1 SIX. Thats a boundary at a rate of better than i in every 8 balls

2 days to play with a lead of 203. Great opportunity to set their season up with MAXIMUM points.

Pumped for Cooper, he looks back to his best after struggling since that incident at the SCG.

Ferg, Head, Copper & Jnr Boof are a solid middle order.

Hope Head as a reasonable summer, with his handy off spin he will play tests in India next year for sure.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Good too, that 3/4's of those batsmen are local lads and that we're no longer predominantly relying on imports, and are now properly developing our own!

And the non local came here for opportunity played a few years lost his contract and stuck around to fight for it back. Decent limited overs form gets him in the Shield side....
