Don't think Windies have the depth.

But they do have enough dangerous key weapons.

They really are the x factor.

It just takes one of them to get going for 8 overs at any given time, they'll lose a game they shouldn't but they'll win a game or two they weren't expected to.

Yep they have weapons but they need everything to go right to get there (bit like India in '83)

The weapons are a liability to too, can see Gayle leaving many short singles out there and he'll turn a lot of threes into twos which at the sharp end may be costly.

But if he's out there long enough for these to be costly he'd be striking at 150 anyway.

Absolutely mate.

I love that the minnows aren't playing, I think it's great that everyone plays each other once and you just have to finish top 4 for a chance to feature in the big dance.

I'd say you'll need a 7-3 record at worst to play finals, the Saffers are shot, the Afghans, Sri Lankans and Banga's can get crossed out.

NZ: 2-0 (haven't been tested yet).
WI: 1-0 (smashed the Paki's)
AUS: 1-0 (can't be judged yet)
ENG: 1-1 (lost to Paki's  )
IND 1-0 (closed the SAffers door)
PAK: 1-1 (woeful against the Windies, impressive against England)

I think we can rule out Pakistan, they are always too inconsistent.

Australia is the only one out of the 5 that I'll comfortably select for the finals.

West Indies have won the toss and elected to bowl.
Australia have an unchanged eleven.

Nah 6 wins will be enough to make the semis.

With some luck, 5 and a good net run rate might also do, although I consider that unlikely.

Like to know who designed the shape of this ground or at least the position of the stand.
Bloody weird pommy surveyors.

A lot of English grounds similar. Many of them started as just open paddocks and were between roads. As time went by the roads couldn’t be shifted so grandstands were built and due to lack of space they encroached on to the ground which gives them their unique shape
