I don't care whose fault it was, Smith can't be carrying on like that.

Haven't they always under DRS?

Dickwella is like one of those keepers in club cricket who misses the genuine chances and then appeals every time he gloves one cleanly as a result.

Schoolboy stuff that is normally the brain fade running domain of sub continent batters. Why do some batters go into a panic when there is a strong appeal for LBW going on. Khawaja may have burnt Smith a bit but if that was off the bat he probably wouldn't consider a run so what gives with wanting to run in the middle of an LBW appeal. Does the batter think it might confuse or distract the umpire from giving them out. Surely isn't a factor these days with DRS. Doesn't the batter realise that the non striker is probably looking at the umpire to see if it's out or not out rather than realise the striker could be looking for a run. It's just dumb and immature cricket.

Smiths animated reaction towards Kawahja after the run out was a disgrace.
Sure he was pissed off he got run out and it may have been Kawahjas fault? We'll never know. BUT the worst thing you can do is abuse your team mate. He's already feeling shit enough as it is without copping more crap.
Bite your lip and get off the ground is the team thing to do. Smith with his experience should have known that.

Putting your hand up to say no, not calling and then taking off and stopping doesn't exactly send signals you're committing to a run. Then you shake your head like it's your partners fault. FFS.

Stumps, trail by 114.
Apart from the comical and awful run out and Labuschagne's reverse sweep straight to the only fielder between mid off and first slip on the offside that was a very good day for Aus.

I agree, it was a pretty good day, but the Lankan spinners loom large. Are you confident we can build a decent first innings lead? I'm not.

If Smith did that reaction to Hayden, Langer, Ponting, Steve Waugh he would
Cop an absolute flogging.

I'm not confident either if the batsmen have a brain melt and throw their wickets away. Warner couldn't do much about the delivery he got and was going well until then and as for the others it wasn't as if the SL bowlers had the Aussies under huge pressure so it was frustrating to see Labuschagne and Smith get out like they did.

Khawaja going well and is obviously vital to at least getting to SL's score.

I believe that once DRS is called for, the 3rd umpire checks for ALL forms of dismissal not just the one that was appealed for.

I think thats the case

A good day for us but I would say even stevens given we are batting last. Wouldn’t want to be chasing more than 200.

Probably reading to much into it but reckons Smiths reaction to Khawaja might be just as much due to the difference in personalities, one being the ultra intense ocd vs the super relaxed Khawaja. Not sure Smith reacts like that if it’s Warner or Labuschagne.

Firstly, what a great place to play cricket.

Secondly, Smith's reaction was a terrible look.
Mate your out, get off and keep your reaction behind closed doors.

Third, Dickwella is not appealing, its just screaming.
Ask the question.... How is that?
Not scream like you've just fired a nailgun through your hand.
Does my head in!

Disagree, he said no, put his hand up saying no
he only started to run when Usman told him to

Every non striker backs up like Usman did. Call was on Smith with the ball in front of square.

Does it really matter whose fault it was? Sometimes you have a misunderstanding between two batsmen, which is what it looked like in this case. The bottom line is that's Smith's reaction was completely unwarranted.
