Could understand it (sort of) if you batting middle or middle and leg and hung the bat there

His making a point of trying to be more proactive in his return to the side and rotate the strike more. Do you think his mistaking that for having to have bat on ball and playing nothing shots when he should be leaving????

I get that that it’s plain to see why he is doing it

But if you adjust your guard to cover that there is no need to hang your bat there as you’ve changed your set up. Change your stance like he did means you can proactively leave that ball

If he was on a more traditional guard and it’s on a 4th stump line you can understand why he played at it.

I dont disagree with you at all. Was just posing the question, has he got his mind frame wrong around being more proactive.

With the amount of movement in this pitch how many days and sessions left is irrelevant.

Once again this is an example of the changed Kookaburra ball, the change of pitch conditions and T20 batting are destroying (test and first class) averages in Aus.

You could deadset drop Weatherald, Labuschagne, Khawaja, Green and replace them with Konstas, Renshaw, McSweeney, Webster and the batting wouldnt be any worse.

Have we ever had more of out of form batters in the one line up before.

Yet we continue to win with ease on the back of our quality bowling.

I don't disagree but Weatherald, Labuschagne, Khawaja and Green have show they are better players than those 4 over the last 2 seasons at both international and first class level so I believe they deserve to be the first choice players for this series but these conditions really bring out the deficiencies those guys have and obviously they get the results they've had recently.

I can't excuse some of the poor shot selection though, that is real frustrating.

Would be so interesting to see the results (runs) those players would have if the wickets were as flat as they used to be.

And I see Konstas, Renshaw, McSweeney and perhaps Webster being regulars for Aus in the next 5 years anyway so I guess we'll see what they can do in the near future.

Tough going for sure, it’s doing enough to have doubt. I can understand how they are getting out trying to be somewhat attacking.

Konstas will be an interesting one, if he can had a solid defence to his game and bat with more patience he could be anything.
