Will be interesting to see what we do for the Ashes when we have Hazlewood back with Richardson, Cummins and Starc to choose from.

All four offer something different. There will be pitches where Richardson will be a handful but I wouldn't play him at other venues which dont offer movement.
Cummins ia the only shoe in to play all Tests as he impacts on any surface.
Englands batting woes are every bit as bad as ours with reliance on wicketkeepers and all rounders for runs. I think this series depends upon Broad and AAndersons ability to stave off Father Time.

Still averages 42.2 as captain and 42.3 as non captain so no difference there. Averaged 35.23 in 2016 which was before he became captain, 45.59 in 2017 and 40.72 in 2018 and has now made 20 runs in 3 innings.

My inebriated musings are no match for your facts TDK.

After seeing what he made yesterday I was going to look up his numbers the past 2/3 years since he's been captain and reading your post last night reminded me to go on cricinfo and have a look.

Couldn't agree more as far as Cartwright and Agar are concerned, Agar got a gig because Boof wanted to make a statement upon getting the role, Cartwheel was the third best of an ordinary bunch.

I rate Stoinis far higher than any of the 3 you mentioned though, so why not hand out our 16th cap in the past 3 years? We won after all so we may aswell go change the side around.

On a side note, Starc will get a 5fa.

Ahem

Well bowled Starc. A good confidence booster for him. Found genuine pace on a flat track.
Now need Uzzie to make the most of this second opportunity. Both have had disappointing summers when they were needing to step up. But IMO for different reasons... one tried too hard the other seems to be lack of effort.

I’m not sure that Harris is the answer, needs more patience.
We lack patience all the way through with Paine being the exception, it was the main difference between us and the Indians.

The worst thing about him failing is it gives Stan Darsh that bit of a sniff for The Ashes.

The reality is only Trav Head has fully capitalised on his chances this summer. Uzzie (like Starc) will retain his spot in the XI along with Warner and Smith. So Labuschagne Harris Burns S Marsh Renshaw and Handscomb will be fighting for the other two spots. Renshaw probably ranked 6th in that list but as yet none deserve a regular gig.
Will P cannot possibly be selected whilst he is struggling with expectations. He would clearly be even more vulnerable on an overseas jaunt.
