Big picture, selectors have a huge chance to stimulate the economy.
Imagine how much work would be generated for glaziers, electrical retailers and their supply chains if Shaun Marsh is picked.

Basically listed in batting order. Siddle to be the next Andy Bichel with racking up consecutive 12th man appearances...

Khawaja is a proven dud at Test level should've been Klinger.

I was a big wrap for him when he first came in, and he underachieved. Can't believe they've got him in instead of Bancroft with Burns at 3.
Mind you, I wouldn't have gone back to Haddin once Paine got in the side, or Johnson two years ago, and they proved me wrong, so my track record's not real good.
(Hilfenhaus is another I got wrong, thought was going to be a mainstay for years and be 200-300 wickets by now)

I don't want to be rude but as you said its not a good track record there, basically based on that the selector have probably got it right. ;)

Rubbish, everyone deserves another crack.

Almost everyone gets dropped at some point.

Give him this full summer and then make an assessment

Glad S marsh wasn't picked, he IS one that has had his chances

So what are we looking at then for the first test:

1. David Warner
2. Usman Khawaja
3. Joe Burns
4. Steve Smith (capt)
5. Adam Voges
6. Mitchell Marsh
7. Peter Nevill
8. Mitchell Johnson
9.Mitchell Starc,
10. Josh Hazlewood
11. Nathan Lyon,

12th Peter Siddle

Lots riding on Warner and Smith in the top order. Going to be very interesting to see how this plays out. Bolt and Southee will be a handful with the new ball and if the pitch is offering abit the going will be tough. I think Khawaja has the ability, just very much under achieved. Burns worries me a bit and I'm not sold yet, but hope he goes well. Voges and M. Marsh need to step up in that middle order.

Which ever way you look at it, the batting looks fragile and is a concern.

It wont surprise me if Siddle gets a game given his track record at the Gabba.

I don't really like his selection in the test side but he's done all the right things with Queensland and made lots of runs so I guess he deserves a crack over someone like Marsh. I reckon he's going to struggle to make runs but we'll wait and see, I'm certain he'll perform better than Marsh was previously.

Not being rude at all, you are right.
But as Benny said, so often they come back as different players.
