Consistently disappointing I assume you mean. Average for the year is sub 30. He's a 31 year old in his 15th first class season by my reckoning. If he's not learnt to go on with it by now when will he? Didn't we basically tell Klinger he wouldn't be guaranteed a spot opening on the "strength" of Cosgrove returning? Then we had to part ways with Botha because Cosgrove would be classed as an international. Can't say it's purely coincidence that Head has had an ordinary season with the captaincy. I still think he was a chucker, but Botha's bowling was effective and I reckon it would give our attack a real nice rounded feel having Botha's right arm jabs. Bat him 7, Ludeman 8. Klinger opening to protect the middle order more. Not that they're doing too bad. Ferguson and Ross averaging high 40s, Lehmann in the 70s. But I guess at least Cosgrove has added some consistency......
