Glad the cricket is going well I had a huge sleep in recovering today so I'll be up most of the night.

Voges does look very good, Looks like his waited this long for his chance he doesn't want to give it up. I actually do hope he goes well very humble cricketer a quality not seen in this current Australian side.

What does Bishoo's bowling performance here tell us about Nathan Lyon and where he is at? Or am I looking at things to deep?

It's a fair question.

I didn't see Lyon bowl last night, so I can't answer you with any degree of certainty.

I saw him bowl a bit and he looked OK. He won't be our match winner but he will hold up an end throughout this series and England and get a few wickets along the journey.

You'd expect he will be a handful in the second dig here. Personally I don't have huge expectations on him.

Hey isn't this guy chucking it???

Feels like I've read this script before. Johnson comes in with Aus in trouble. Takes his time early in his innings and slowly takes Aus from trouble before unloading and leaving with Aus dominating. First half gone to script, let's see how he fares after lunch (if he doesn't get out just before). One bloke who will retire with a test average well below what his output deserves.

Anyone would think this bloke is bowling grenades. He is ok but nothing special, our guys look clueless against him

Yet another Test involving the Aussies where they bowlers are the difference and not with the ball.
Would be an interesting stat over the last few years to see how many times our last 5 wickets have put on more than the first 5

Great 100 from Voges on debut. Well supported by Lyon and Hazelwood with 59 between them to get him there

Last wicket putting on 97 was very handy, which will win us this Test

Genuine ton of test match quality. Great patient knock.

Well done Adam Vodges! I don't care how old he is, he was a good selection to bring into the test side. Been around the Australian group for quite a while and has loads of experience behind him. Deserves every bit of success he gets in Australian colours.

It also proves the point that regardless of age, the best performing 11 players should be picked to represent the country. Succession planning is required when no one is belting the door down.

Reckon that's been a hallmark of boof as coach - giving older players an opportunity to have short but meaningful careers. I guess from his own experience.

Rogers, bringing back Haddin, Voges, even Harris may not have been in the side of boof wasn't there.

Reckon it's an excellent system
