- Smith's reaction following the Hussey not out decision was priceless
- Congrats to the Kat on another fine knock

Seems like an eternity since we've made such a strong start as this. Hussey will have a big say in whether we cross the 500 mark though, given a life (well by the laws of the game it wasn't I suppose) early and is well due to make a contribution.

Yep. Two fine test match innings, all over for Kat now, out for 108, but well played

Let's hope Clarke doesn't get out like Ponting, although it wouldn't surprise

It was only a matter of time before Hussey got a lean patch with the bat. You can't stay up with the Don forever if you play 20+ Tests! ;)

Ok I spent the last hour or two watching IQ of Hughes' century.

My gosh, what a freaking gun! Seriously, he is SPECIAL! He is a freakish talent. As RR said, talent + enormous mental strength= future champion. He's 20, TWENTY! Gun!

CANNOT lose another wicket tonight. If we do, South Africa might feel as though they actually won the day. Cmon lads, stay strong, see out the overs!

We take the light with one over to spare so that's day one done and dusted. At 4/303 with both openers posting tons it has definitely been our day, and by far our best start against this mob since they rocked up for the first test in Perth. In terms of our final total a lot will depend on whether the Huss can turn his fighting knock into a big one. A ton from him to join Hughes and the Kat would mean 500 is well and truly on, but at very worst it will be a more than competitive total.

And how good is it that we've found a 20 year old freakishly talented opener ahead of the Ashes series. :D

rod_rooster wrote:Paul Harris has quickly become one of my most disliked cricketers. Firstly he is no good. He just bowls rubbish. Mitchell Johnson gave him exactly what he deserved in the first test. Secondly he thinks he is causing the batsmen trouble. He couldn't turn a ball if he was bowling on the driest most uneven deck ever seen yet he still throws his arms in the air in disbelief that the balls that he throws 3 feet outside off stump don't jag back and hit the stumps. I know bowlers like Warne and Murali use gamesmanship with such theatrics to build pressure on batsmen but those guys had the weapons to back it up. FFS even i would be embarrassed to get out to Harris. He is so very very ordinary that i wonder why Australia are concerned about our spin bowling options. It surely couldn't be as bad as Harris. How does he get a game. If he is the best spin bowling option in South Africa then they have a lot more problems than the Aussies.

I agree totally. The guy thinks every delivery he bowls is a hand grenade despite any and all evidence to the contrary. I'm getting sick of that big soft fruit acting like he's turning them square and then talking so much smack on top of it. It's obvious that's his role though to try and get under our skin any way possible, I guess he has to try and justify his selection somehow.

Geez bit rough, the Ball he got Clarke out on was a gem, Clarke try to defend it and missed it by 6 inches

Maybe we are a bit jealous that they have a spinner?
