Michael Clarke: Shaun Marsh should open for Australia against New Zealand

This Shaun Marsh fascination is a disease. Seriously, what do all these people see in him? It's a sick joke that just never ends. The man has so many lives, at least Watson managed to make more than two runs in the Ashes.

Yep. Makes the criticism of watson look unnecessarily harsh when you compare it to Marsh.

Should be a good series though I reckon. NZ have the bowling attack to take it up to us.

Yeah have to agree, Marsh to open? Lol piss off, keeps getting chances while continuing to fail. NZ have a good attack and Marsh will be the easy wicket for them.

Really looking forward to the series, as Benny said I reckon NZ will take it up to us as we'll have a pretty inexperienced Batting line up.

They see the Marsh they want to see. They believe he man made a few runs in South Africa many moons ago is real when in fact hes the verson the selectors wish was real.

The real Marsh will provide the NZ cordon with plenty of practice.

True, but like most touring sides, they don't have the batting to back it up.

Johnson and Starc will ride roughshod over their top order.

New Zealand Allrounder Corey Anderson has been ruled out of the upcoming series with a back injury.

You are a lone soldier here champ.....

How many chances do you give a bloke? Good First Class Cricketer but not quite there against quality internationals. Plus when you think he's turned the corner gets injured....

I'm all for giving blokes as many chances as their shield form deserves

Apart from having impecible timing (always seems to tim up at state level just as a spot opens up) his first class record is only average at best

I would love for him to get a gig in our test 11 this summer. Preferably in front of Shaun Marsh but that's wishful thinking.

C'mon guys S Marsh just made 186 in the Matador Cup against a highly talented Australian 2nd 100 X1. You know thats enough to secure his spot for the next two summers. Geez what more does he have to do?

Wouldn’t be surprised if NZ knock us off in a couple of tests this summer. Aussies are seriously underdone and will be inexperienced.

You're looking at:

Warner
Bancroft
Smith
Voges/khawaja
Burns/Marsh
M Marsh/Maxwell/Faulkner?
Nevill
Johnson
Starc
Hazelwood/Pattinson/Siddle?
Lyon

Prime Minister's XI one-day game with pink ball vs NZ this Friday in Canberra.

Prime Minister's XI: Michael Hussey (c), Cameron Bancroft, Joe Burns, Usman Khawaja, Adam Voges, David Hussey, Ryan Carters (wk), Ashton Agar, Peter Siddle, Jason Behrendorff, Mark Steketee, Ben Taylor (12th).

My 11 would be-

Warner
Bancroft
Smith
Voges
Burns (But they'll probably pick S Marsh FFS)
Faulkner- But M Marsh will probably get the nod ahead of him which I don't mind
Nevill
Johnson
Starc
Hazlewood
Lyon

It looks like a promising squad with some decent allround and bowling options.

Then play a tour match against NZ the two days after that.

Hussey (Both) will make way for a couple of young guns.

No need to worry, Chris Cairns has this series sorted out already.
