The pace elite level Marathoners do is phenomenal.
Anyone doing a single 10 km run in 30 minutes is doing very well indeed.
These guys do 4 in a row at that rate.
Deeks rates it a "good honest pace" today :)

Great win by Kiprotich, he was 3rd just behind the 2 kenyans with 5 kms to go and he bolted and blew them away. Great running.
Loved that comment by Deek "Good honest pace" 3 min kms

Had the marathon on in the background. Heard Eddie say something about "... going past the Ugandan supporters now". Looked up to see the Ugandan bloke running past a whole bunch of people waving Kenyan flags. Frickin' halfwit...

It was quite comical how Eddie kept parroting off the profiles over and over of all the runners who had come from disadvantaged backgrounds. You could do a good parody of it:

Deek: "And the leaders are coming up to the finish - it looks like being a close one!"

Eddie:"...but I haven't finished telling our audience the sensational story of the courageous runner from Equatorial Guinea who was born with only 1 leg and ran 100km across 3 rivers and over 5 mountains to school each day and had to work all night to provide food for his 13 orphaned brothers and sisters"

Deek: "Just shut the f... up Eddie - we've already heard that story 10 times! (but can I please mention my program for indigenous athletes one more time?)"

Commentators: "Gee, these leaders might struggle to cope with the heat today, there's some sting in that sun."

They're from Africa.

And it was all of 26 degrees and in England!

The only the only issue I have with the Marathon is that it is a shame the runners no longer enter the stadium and do the last 400 inside to the aclaim and applause of a packed crowd. Instead because we have to have a hollywood extravaganza for the closing ceremony as well as the opening which I don't havwe a problem with however they need near enough on 2 days to ready the stadium / stage for all the BS! It is a sporting event FFS!
