Opals lose again. O/2 now. Hard to progress from here. All Liz’s fault

PS disgraceful last call by ref, should have been extra time!

Closest ref was looking straight at it. Play on.

Doesn't mean another ref can't call it

I thought same, late-ish call from the ref wouldn’t have been easy to take for the girls

Gold for McKeown again. And Seebohm comes from nowhere to get third.

Was touching moment getting Seebohm up on the No.1 Dias with her for medal ceremony, as a young girl she was inspired by her with her swimming.

Aussies gifted the bronze medal in the 4x100 mixed medley relay.
America inexplicably put a woman in the breaststroke (the slowest stroke) and a man in the freestyle (the quickest stroke), thereby minimizing the time in which they have the biological advantage of a man in the water instead of a woman.

All three countries that medalled followed the logic and used a man in the breaststroke and a woman in freestyle.

The added benefit for us is this gets Emma McKeon to her 9th Olympic medal (now equal Australian leader with Thorpe and Jones).
One day of competition left and Emma still has the individual 50m Freestyle and the 4x100m women’s medley relay to come.

And Matt Denny just misses out on bronze in the discus.

“Injury” :)
He played the singles bronze match about an hour earlier and lost. Spat the chewy and withdrew from the mixed doubles. Bet his partner was stoked at the decision

The Boomers remain undefeated at 3-0 in their pool group and now advance to the Quarter Finals.

Australia 89 (Mills 24, Landale 18, Kay 16) def Germany 76 (Obst 17, Giffey 11, Thiemann 11)

Threw a PB and missed Bronze by 5cm. Can’t do much more than that.

The young sprinter in the 100 metres also ran a PB 10.02 to win his heat and make the Semi’s. Amazing run by the young fella. Still an outside chance to make the final as was 6th fastest, but a few were holding back whereas he seemed to be going flat out.

Didn't the American girl, who swam breast stroke, lose her goggles in the early stages of her swim? Things may have been different if that didn't happen.

She did, but it didn’t impact her time, still swam a low 1:05 from memory.

If you were buying 4 items at the shop, and the clerk said you can take 10% off the price of any two items, you’re going to pick the most expensive two aren’t you?
Well the same applies here, you’ve got 4 strokes, get the male advantage on the two longest times for the greatest benefit!

Another Gold to McKeon in the 50m Freestyle.

First Aussie to win 6 medals in an olympics and is also the leading medal winner overall with 10.

Gold again

Womens 4 x 100m medley. Olympic record to boot.

Emma McKeon adds another gold to her personal tally and stretches the above record to 7 at one olymics and 11 in total.

Joins Thorpe on 5 golds.

Perhaps Cate Campbells last swim
