Pretty sad that Arsenal's Armenian winger, Mkytharyan will miss the Europa cup final because he fears for his life by being in Azerbaijan. UEFA need to give more thought to where they play these finals.

Azerbaijan is a far safer place than many other places games are held

Not if you are Armenian! It's not just about safety. Why hold the final in a city that can only accomodate a maximum of 15,000 tourists wanting to go to the game.

Greek players get death threats before games in Turkey and vice versa but games still get played there. Unfortunately there is still a fair bit of racism across Europe and there will be situations like this from time to time.
Yes the venue size isn’t flash but they “won” the bid. UEFA probably didn’t count on there being this much interest in a second string comp either.

Probably the better team in he first half but a stupid penalty cost us.

Good turn out at the Spurs gig in Adelaide, people hanging from the rafters.

Not a great game and a bit of a let down after the lead up games, have to wonder if the three week break contributed to that (even though it helped us get some players on the park).
We had most of the possession but played a relatively safe game which was weird considering we were down thanks to the penalty in the first 2 minutes. Some debate over the penalty but Sissoko needs to take a lesson of our defenders such as Vertonghan and Toby who ensure their arms are behind their back when defending shots in the area.
Van dijk was a beast for Liverpool and I thought Danny Rose was easily our best.

An amazing run and to start of 10th fav, be written off at group stages and make some incredible comebacks in the quarters and semi, not spend any money in two windows and only get our home ground back late in the comp and still make the final is something to be proud of.
And most importantly we have another crack next season with more stabilty and money to add to the squad.

Well done Liverpool, it would have been a travesty if they went through this season without a trophy.

COYS!

Still celebrating a great achievement. Bad luck Spurs, great season given the owner spends buggerall. Would have been hard to take an empty handed season after the way we’ve played. I’m sure something will surface to suggest otherwise, but all I’ve read and seen suggests both sets of supporters mingled well and in good spirits in Madrid.

Wonder if the English FA will start giving consideration to a season break around the festive period, to bring the length of season closer to other Euro comps?

Let’s talk about SIX Baby!!!
