The incompetence and arrogance from the SFL is frightening!

Jee cove were brave today. Could have easily won. Definitely on the right track.
What happened at Noarlunga? Did the game get stopped at half time or something?

Just had a look on The Shoes facebook page and one of their players copped an injury. Ambulance called and game called off

Game was abandoned at 3 quarter time. (ambo arrived on oval at this time)

5 min into 3rd quarter Noarlunga player and F/Hill player collided (no malice just a football incident) with both injured the NFC player and others heard a crack and informed trainers he had pins and needles from his neck injurie.

Thank you to all involved from both clubs , players and trainers who had the safety of player paramount .

For all ,player received numerous scans and has been given the clear of any serious injury.

An update from SANFL. Information regarding restrictions on training won't be available until later this evening or tomorrow
RE: SANFL Community Football | COVID-19 Update
As you are no doubt aware, the State Government has announced the state-wide lockdown will end at midnight tonight. The following takes effect from 12.01am Wednesday 28 July.
Sport training to recommence
Competition to resume next weekend (waiting on confirmation whether this extends to Friday 6 August)
SANFL is waiting on formal Directions to be released to confirm any restrictions around training, as well as any other Return to Play Protocols. We expect the Directions to be available early evening.
The State Government is also reviewing events with COVID Management Plans, as well as spectator allowances at events/sporting matches. We expect more information on this either later this week or early next week.
SANFL will conduct a brief zoom meeting for League representatives tomorrow night, Wednesday, 28 July at 6pm. Further detail to follow. We trust that we will have access to Directions by then and can provide more detail to Leagues.
Other mandatory and strong recommendations regarding mask wearing from today include:
Mandatory masks in public indoor spaces
Mandatory masks in certain school settings
Strongly recommend masks in workplaces and in any other indoor environments
Masks must be worn by persons delivering player treatment (ie: trainers, physios, doctors etc)
Thanks again for your continued efforts in keeping SA safe and compliance with restrictions. We will provide more detail tomorrow once it is known including link to zoom meeting for League meeting tomorrow night.

Does anyone know what is going on with return to play after lock down?

I believe clubs met with SFL executive last week and voted to move round 14 to last round of year and round 15 to be a bye for all.

Any update on this?

SANFL Community Football | URGENT COVID-19 Restrictions Update

Dear all,

Further gradual easing of restrictions were announced by the State Government this morning.

The following impacting sporting clubs and licenced venues will take effect from 12:01am Thursday 5 August:

Sporting competitions can re-commence
Spectators limited to parents/caregivers for the purpose of supervision (should be limited to one parent where possible)
Only those who are required for the running of the activity can be in attendance (ie: players, officials, coaches, volunteers, COVID Marshals etc)
Those in attendance are subject to all other COVID requirements such as seated consumption, QR code check-in etc
Density of 1 person per 2sqm (changerooms, match day areas such as coaches boxes, licenced venue etc)
Density of 1 person per 4sqm for gyms/indoor fitness facilities
Existing mask wearing conditions continue (licenced venues, shared public spaces, workplaces etc)
Singing restrictions remain in place (no club songs in changerooms)
Seated consumption remains (indoors & outdoors)
Cross border community members can cross the border to participate in sport competition and training (provided within the 70km border bubble with Victoria)

We appreciate that the lack of spectators significantly impacts our community clubs. We will be working closely with SA Health to advocate for the return to spectators as soon as possible (hopefully for the next round of matches).

So clubs are aware, community sport in Victoria resumed under similar spectator restriction conditions this past weekend following the end of their lockdown.

Again we remind you of our Key Principles to Return to Play as follows:

Density requirements, and/or maintaining 1.5m apart where possible must be observed where possible
QR Code and Manual Check In Systems in place
Presence of COVID Marshals
“Get In/Get Out” should be observed where possible
Thorough cleaning and sanitisation must occur before and after each training/match day including spot cleaning of changerooms in between user groups, and cleaning of equipment
Hygiene and testing protocols previously implemented will still apply (including no shared drink bottles, lolly bowls etc)

SANFL will monitor the restrictions and release of the directions, and provide any further updates as required.

The SANFL Return to Play protocols and website will be updated once the directions have been released (most likely Wednesday).

Thanks again for your ongoing support and compliance in COVIDSafe practices.

Regards,

Lisa Faraci

There is an obvious solution that will result in all teams playing equal games and only 1 other game being impacted but that would require the SFL to make a decision that 1 club may not like to benefit the majority so that won't happen.

I thought the clubs (presidents and delegates) voted and made a decision.

My understanding was the decision was made based on it being a 1 week break and when it stretched to 2 it wasn't reviewed.

The sensible decision from here would be to scrap the 2 weeks missed and change the Porties v Shoes game in the last round to a bye for both teams in addition to Cove who already have the bye. It is the only way to ensure all teams play the same amount of games with the least disruption.

Playing 1 round at the end of the season, but not the other, so you can then play the Grand Final on the same day as the AFL GF is just ridiculous.

Whether you like or dislike a decision that was voted by democratic means (presidents and delegates and motion moved) you cant go and have a individual ringing individuals to change that decision! I am note happy about Scotty from marketing as our Prime minister but accept the process.

Have we become a dictatorship circus.

Then by all means allow another vote now that more information has come to light. Your argument against the SFL making dictatorial decisions should mean they don't have the ability to cancel the 2nd missed week without discussion so shouldn't you be up in arms about that? Seeing as you are so set on this being a fair process.

Fact is the "play it as we decided last week or play it as scheduled" "decision" benefits one club only and I know you don't need me to tell you who that club is.

Just add this to the list:
Extra points because we lost players (who all then miraculously returned)
BS Life Memberships
Chartered Flights
One extra game

The Noarlunga logo on the Gameday app is the SFL logo FFS just be done with it and rename it Shoes Football League.

More information has come to light? what information was not present at the meeting where a vote was passed?

As for the NFC i have not micro analyzed where decision passed has a positive or negative effect on the club. My issue is a meeting with ALL clubs casting a vote "General Business Saturday Comp rounds 14 & 15 number 4 Was moved and seconded, motion carried" to have an individual calling individuals to change the vote or process is out of line and out of line with the constitution of the SFL.

As for your personal issue with NFC B-) please.

What was the detail of the motion and what date was the meeting? What you have stated above tells nothing other than the clubs agreed with what was proposed at the time.
