After speaking with a couple of Reynella boys, some were happy with your game p32, some thought for the amount you are getting paid (or have been already) that you needed to do more come the season proper, I hope for your sake and the Winies that you can give them a big helping hand this year. Any news on Jason Farrier down at Westies?? or if he will be back for the flies? My mail is he is going nicely and is in line for a league debut early in the season, although I am not that close to the source.

I wouldn't be surprided if some of the boys were hoping for more from me as like I said earlier, it was one of my worst games i've played.

Just hearing big figures from someone in the know down there. Well big for the SFL anyway. They paid way too much for certain players last year what I saw and heard. Be nice to watch clubs get value for their money. Obviously there will be plenty of eyes on your performance this year, but if ya gunna get the big bucks, ya gunna have big expectations to deal with as well. Wish everyone down at fly park all the best this year

all good its my first season at a new club also but with training with them for the last few months i can work out who the guns are gonna be without knowing anyone and you being a coach already youd have a radar for that sort of thing. when people say had a few out they dont mean people who go to and thro from the grades they mean solid players

Wouldnt be to worried about your game on the weekend big fella! From what i saw of you from the car you looked ok. Very interested to see what Early has done at the flies and i was very impressed. As a long time follower i can see genuine excitement in the boys. Probably a class below the big sides at the moment but it looks a though heading in the right direction. The Messiah has arrived! haha

I have been told by few sources (both Reynella & from Westies playing group) that Faz is travelling nicely out at Richmond. I have been critical of Faz at Reynella the past few seasons as a player, yet is a nice bloke. Has been playing down back and seems to be paying his opponents respect by playing hard & accountable footy. This is great feedback for Jase and I hope he kicks on to get a league debut early in the season.

The draw for juniour footy is out and if you are a club like ours and have a full contingent of juniour sides expect to be all over the place.
Seniours at one venue 14/16 at another 18 at another!!!! This is crap and the SFL should get its act together and not loose sight of the strength of this comp being a community based football league which fields kids in the morning and seniours in the arvo at the same VENUE!!! which builds foundations for FAMILYS that become the backbone of clubs.

This is crap and the SFL should get its act together and not loose sight of the strength of this comp being a community based football league which fields kids in the morning and seniours in the arvo at the same VENUE!!! which builds foundations for FAMILYS that become the backbone of clubs.

SB i agree 100% that its a pain to travel all over the place, and its much better for the club to have all 5 saturday teams at the one ground, but how else can the SFL program this, when there are clubs with no juniors? YOu cant just give your Junior teams a byw everytime your senior team plays one of these clubs. SO until all clubs have Juniors this is going to be the case...

I agree they could probably help us a bit by not schedualing seniors at M.V Park and juniors at Aldinga or anything like that, but like i said when there are clubs missing teams it has to happen. Afterall letting kids actually play a game of footy is whats its all about yer?

Yeah Pilks was probably our best, if only he could play D! Disappointing first round, we still should have gotten the win, especially at home.

With all due respect your post is not fixing this prob and the SFL must get its house in order.

As it is for 09 surley the clubs that field no kids MUST be disadvantaged when programming and if that means less home games so be it!!!

I agree shoe boy. We play morphy parks at their ground again this year. Last year our juniors were at Happy Valley when we played Morphy Parks. So not only do we not play them at our ground 2 years runnning, our juniors play away from us too. You would think they would give preference to us having the home game then give it to them not once, but twice.

Easy fix - Scrap the Sunday competition and use the second sides to fill the gaps like they used to. Has worked fine in the past and gets rid of the bye.

why don't the league grow some plums and only allow teams to have 1 junior team per grade as well. This might help some of the teams that struggle to get juniors get them. This is a problem for clubs that work hard then lose a kid to morphett vale or reynella. I know of at least 3 kids that play sub juniors at lonsdale that have been approached by Reynella and asked to play out there as lonsdale is a crap club with no future. Until the league stand up to the so called power clubs then the league will not adress the balance between top and bottom, which i think is what everyone wants.
