This is a problem for clubs that work hard then lose a kid to morphett vale or reynella. I know of at least 3 kids that play sub juniors at lonsdale that have been approached by Reynella and asked to play out there as lonsdale is a crap club with no future. Until the league stand up to the so called power clubs then the league will not adress the balance between top and bottom, which i think is what everyone wants.

absolute rubbish Farva.. but thanks for acknowledging flaggies as a power house club as we are lookin to field sunday teams in 14s n 16s.. But seriously u think all the kids playin in the sunday comps r comin from clubs like lonsdale hackham and marion??? Flaggies for example have been fielding numerous teams in 4/5s and 6/7s comps and then when the kids hit U14s and 16s some only get to play 9 games a season.
I think the sunday comp is a great idea, gives all the kids plenty of playin time while still playin and training with mates

There are 13 teams in the u/14 and u/16 saturday competitions, if you added the five teams from the sunday comp, you will lose the bye, but
1. you will 18 have teams, so teams will play at different venues from the seniors more often!
2. BDOS and possibly Cove with their college kids, may not actually be able to fill a second side, meaning you may be stuck with the bye anyway
3. The kids playing in the second sides will get pummeled week in, week out; And a lot of those kids will give up the game or move to another club.

4. I also belive the last time they played in the same comp M/v second team rarely if not never played on there home ground

1. If that is the issue, play the 2nd teams in a separate competition (ladder) yet program them in the gaps to smooth out the draw (they have done this in the past), may make the div 2 juniors unbalanced and a little complicated to program but the focus is on allowing the kids to play games and the premiership for this grade is rather meaningless anyway.
2. Brighton and Cove both currently fill a Saturday side - I do not see what the issue is here
3. Some kids in single team clubs get pummelled by the first teams of multiple team clubs - that is football and maybe that will make some of these excess kids want to join the single team clubs and even out the competition as a result.
4. If the kids are worried about not getting to play at home, suck it up, either play for the club you want to and work harder to make the first team, or join another club if you want to play at home.
Pretty simple really
