Congrats to Pt Noarlunga and the Shoes for the mini boys and girls that played on Fri night at the Shoe. One of the biggest crowds seen at the Shoe.

The future is bright for these 2 sides with numbers and support like that. :ymapplause:

This Wed night the minis play Aldinga at the Shoe and another big night am sure.

Reynella were simply terrific, and quite possibly could have the best coach in the SFL right now. Under Earl they're going to be tough, tough, tough, and despite all the pre-season banter they could even end up grand finalists as early as 2009 !!!

Come on boys, let's not get ahead of ourselves, as good as the win was we understand it is only round 2. Teams are getting used to new coaches, new players and new structures. The boys enjoyed a big win, one they haven't had for about 4 years, but we are definitely not even speaking of finals. Both teams were pretty good today and as it turned out only a matter of points between them. It would have definitely been more enjoyable to be a part of it, but it was obvious the boys didn't need me! May find it hard to get back in the side the way the boys played!

Couldnt have said it better myself P32. Premierships are not won in april and both sides would have learnt a lot about their respective sides yesterday. Reynella certainly in previous years may have put up the white flag early in the last quarter but not yesterday. What we saw was that both sides will definately be around the mark at the business end. Emus got an angry cove this week. Another cracker this week looms.

Gee Phantom you seem to stick up for Milo as much as texpress promotes Fazz... :)

Milo was terrific for the flys yesterday and clearly BOG. That being said, he didnt seem to have an Emu near him when he got his hands on the footy. As you indicated last week, his best position probably isnt FF where he does go missing against the Emus. It will be interesting to see how Bishop uses what he learned yesterday in the next matchup.

I thought #21 (?Broadbent) looked a quality player for you also.

Broady was awesome yesterday, would have had close to 20 marks I reckon. But it was definitely a team effort yesterday and as someone said earlier, the boys hung in there and in the last 5 minutes were awesome. They really stood up when it counted.

if he doesnt learn anything fom that game he should not be coaching.
3 things that really upset me were-
a-no respect for milo wot so eva(bishop didnt even know who he was, referred to him as no 9)
b-wrong match up on bradshaw wen he went forward-killed us
c-the way early was able to get smithers out of the game by pushing his opposing player to half forward-every1 knows hf is nothing at m/vale.

Without seeing the game Clopsy i know Early is a very good observer of the game and he would know MV back to front and all of their players strengths/weaknesses. No doubt he would have put some very good plans in place (ie Smith to Half Back with his opponent etc) and would have his players executing his game plan. With Early its his way or the highway and the Winies could do a lot worse than have someone like him at the helm. Sounds like it was a belter of a game and Bish will learn plenty from this game!

A side note i watched the Bays v West game yesterday and Farrier played on Duldig and altho easily outsized by the bigger and stronger duldig i thought he was reasonably good. Provided some good run from the Full Back line and wasnt out of place. Westies threw away the game with the Bays very very lucky to get the points!

No injuries, a few sore bodies but should all pull up fine. Will get 3 more players to hopefully add to that side for the game against Pt Noarlunga on Anzac day.

Nothing on the demolition of Cove at the hands of the Bombers......

At the game and the Bombers look pretty good. A few players missing from each of the sides BUT Cove looked flat with no run, and were severely exposed by the runners of Brighton.

And with the weather just right what a great way to enjoy scones and lattes.....FEEL THAT VENOM!!!! (But lets not get ahead of ourselves....)

Was at the game Hotdogs and I totally agree with you. Although I haven't seen Cove play before I thought they looked totally outclassed by Brighton. They didn't look like a team that was playing in a grand final last season. I heard they did have 7 players out but they must have been their best 7. The only Cove player that stood out for me was the bald guy running out of the back line, Heath? But then he went off for a lot of the last half. How did the Brighton boys pull up Hotdogs as a couple of them went off injured including number 36 or 38 who was playing pretty well out of ffwd.
The run of Johnstone, King and number 1 were the killers, absolutely killed the Cove midfield.

I was at game P32 and player you refer to was Degenhardt who came off with an ankle. Cove and Brighton both had a few players missing but when does anyone play at full strength ? Cove may bleat about no Vick and Gill but I can't think of any other key players missing. Bombers also without at least 4 regular A graders and we had two 19 year olds with one A grade game between them.

Game look balanced at quarter time but we ouscored Cove 5 goals to 2 against breeze in 2nd quarter and then kicked 11 to 1 in 3rd. Bombers absolutely carved up the Cove midfield with Johnstone, Brookman, King and new recruit Hunter having a picnic. Tucker and Sneezer finished the work off with 10 between them.

Great start by the Bombers but still early doors. We had a bad start to last season and busted our guts with big wins late in season just to make top 4. I think we used up our petrol tickets come finals so hopefully we can position ourselves better this year without playing catch-up.

Hope to see a big SFL crowd at our Friday night game at Happy Valley this Friday night. Game starts at 7.45pm.
