The SFL dont have a direction, they had a futures commitee approx 5 years ago and there outcome was that all clubs by 2009 would have to fill a full contigent of teams to stay part of the SFL, this idea was squashed (waste of time having a futures commitee obviously) and here we are in 2009 and same problems are still there.
Tough decisions needed but wont happen.

Not 100% but in the Hills Country and Central I think the reason Kangarilla never went into Central was because of not having all juniors? If this is so is it something the SFL would/ should look into with having 2 seperate divisions? Theoretically speaking of course if this was to be the case with 2 divs I'm sure it would make the likes of Edwardstown and others get the full compliment of Juniors???

I agree SB that Noarlunga have done the hard work and have all sides so should be rewarded for their hard work.

SHOE BOY
I just want a community based footy comp that is in my opinion the STRENGTH of the SFL!!! But of late it appears to have taken another direction????

As I believe on Monday night at the Senior Delegate meeting the SFL were going to accommodate Noarlunga this weekend and in fact the first fixture to come out yesterday did in fact have Noarlunga 18 playing at home this week, One can only assume that the CBFC objected to this??

As far as community football goes some of the management at SFL house have delusions of grandeur, they want to run the biggest and best league in the state, unfortunaltey biggest is not always best. They are slowly destroying the foundation on which the league was built.

Is that Tarque and Brad Smith as Marion FC's 'two pronged' attack??

Great post, hit the nail on the head there. I think they need a good shake up to wake up and see what damage they could/ are potentially doing. The amount of times I've heard them mention how they want all these teams to join to have one super league, quickly forgetting about getting the clubs and fixtures right that they already have in front of them. Interesting few years ahead I reckon.

There come back is always the success of Cove from Div 2 since amalgamation of 2 Divs, Shoe Boy is right - all clubs want to be able to go to Footy on Saturday with there families all in one place and enjoy the day of footy, forget results have 2 divisions with clubs that have all grades and clubs that havent or we will end up like amateurs and have a junior comp and a senior comp and thats will be a huge step backwards for SFL.

We've had our differences Vics01 but great post. I agree Shoe Boy with your logic behind the Under 18 fixture. Some clubs need to look at the big picture.

By the way Vics01, good to see the Ponytail Express was hardly noticeable on Saturday (which is how a trainer should be). Also interesting that the infamous "Tail Gate" incident did not rate a mention with any banter from spectators or players. Makes me wonder whether anyone ever truly believed the allegations in the first place.

Not sure that Christies is the villain here, there seems to be a hell of a lot more whinging coming out of Noarlunga at the moment.

While the Management at the SFL is so bloody pre-occupied in bringing new clubs into our League, the clubs which already exist are being ignored and it will eventually result in poor crowd numbers. Everybody who loves to have a day at the footy wants to see the entire set of their club's teams play at the ground, not with one here and another there. I think the SFL needs to pay more respect to the clubs with a full compliment and let them all play at the same ground as much as possible, surely it's really not too hard!

When they are both fit. Scott Beckham kicked 5 goals or something on sat but i think that was out of the midfield.
