Glenunga was seriously rumoured to be in the mix for the new SFL format in 2009.

Read their results from this year so far. Hackham would beat them!! I would suggest they would definately need to merge or else they wouldn't stand a chance to relocate. They struggle to get 2 teams on the park as it is. Good luck to the guys from Aldinga, Porties and the Shoeys who would have to drive to Glenunga.

Would be handy for a few lads i know from down aldinga, mclarens way who suit up for glenunga each week.
But ur right, they are travelling terribly, and will need to merge with someone to survive.

Great to see Flaggies get the 2nd side up and kids playing footy though. I imagine losts of hard work by a few at the club

The Sunday comp are just glorified practice games so this would not be an issue

All about kids playing football, or so they say

The ol' mighty dollar is the reason behind many decisions...
I would imagine some amateur clubs are finding it hard to pay the entree fee and some players to keep up to speed in the SAAFL.
Wasnt that Edwardstowns problem?

i'm with you on that one dazza! tell us more backy!

3 options being looked at I understand, Nth and Sth Divisions, Conference NFL style finals etc, cant remember exact details but up to 6 teams have made enquiries about joining the SFL, I've said before 15 teams is too many so 20 or so teams would have to be 2 comps.

As for travelling to Glenunga for footy, its closer than where i work 5 days a week.

Can anybody enlighten me on the outcome of the meeting last night between all of the clubs, the SFL and the CSLFUP about the safety behind Happy Valley's cricket pitch? After Morphy park refused to play and Reynella threatened not to it has clearly become a sudden issue for some of the club's even after it was exactly the same as last season!

jb, you are coming across as a little bit of a twat.

no, i wasnt there to see what little impact he had. did you ever think that maybe he had a bad game?

the bloke can play, and well over 90% of the posters on here would agree. and the fact that he was getting league games also indicates that he does know how to play the game, and play the game well.

All good with Craig James(Onkaparinga Council) has signed off with a full OHS report for H/Valley and all other grounds in the council area.

We have the same matting laid this year and in my opinion this surface has a lot more give than some of the turf centres on some of the SFL ovals.

Can anyone enlighten me on what is happening this year with juniors in regards to nominating the first 15 players on Saturday, which cant play in the Sunday comp. Is there a time frame in which we have to nominate these players, or has this changed format this year.

And to whom it was that said Sundays are a glorified trail game  its all about having kids out and Playing the game and having Fun and these KIDS, you never Know these players may turn out to be the Future Senior Players for your CLUB....

Patrol I think it is 10 players this year but believe a few clubs are struggling with this and will be putting it to the league to have it changed.

I agree with JB i was at the game and he was average! Spent alot of time running away from the footy and abusing his team mates. Mayb just a down day but i have seen him have many down days! I must be in the 10%
Its a shame his bother didnt play cos he is good!

Exactly this is the meaningless fun comp, just scratch matches so the kids can have a game - hence why Flagstaff Hill can join and it not have any real issue

JB, nice come back!!! Are we in primary school?? Why are you hiding, you wont even identify yourself with a club . . If you had played any level of high footy you would realise how hard it can be to go back to lower grades. It takes time to adjust . . I Have never played at reynella and dont know Farrier. But i have played SANFL footy and i know how hard it can be to come back to local footy, Give the guy a break.
