That is a staggering feat and would have to be close to a league record? Thats 15 injury free seasons of A grade footy. What is his total games record (im guessing hasnt played many if any B grade) including juniors? =D> =D>

not sure mate,i know he played his first a grade game in 1986,now thats astonishing.

Huge achievement.. some blokes are made to play footy.

we lost the first year in a good game by few goals, and last year was a thumping !! hope they pick a good squad this year to try and win, there is a few rules regarding age think it is 12 players under 25 and 9 over 25 or something like that !!

Going on last years effort, they would need to re-jig the squad a fair bit. Was at the pub by half time last year it was that bad by the SFL blokes. Have seen the SFL bigwigs runnin around handing out invitations, any news on who's in the initial squad?

Only one from Flaggy got an invite this year, Butcher who is backing up from last year.

Well done to Fish. A modest champion of the SFL. We had a guy named Brad Virgo who back in about 2000 or 2001 was on the receiving end of a typical hard but fair Fish tackle. Last time I checked Brad was still on life support.

Only joking  but Brad bever fully recovered from the rib and shoulder damage he copped from a combination of the tackle and the impact with the ground.)

Isn't it nomination from the Club's coach?

Not sure on that one? I thought it was upto the club to nominate a group of players and the league then decided who they wanted in their original 30-40 squad???

SFL won the first one convincingly, then i think the SAAFL took it a bit more serious. Dont think we have won one since its inception back in approx 2004???

As most have said, its a waste of time and no one gives a hoot. Would be better playing the GSFL which people actually care about.

INTER LEAGUE Footy how serious is it when Josh Vick, A champion we would all agree, after half a game last week gets an invite for a game in a fortnight.

Says little of the SFL selection process, which should be selecting players on current form or the SFL duty of care to players, Blind Freddy would say it is un fair to expect Vick to be up and about for such a game.

look good in leather you have no idea. If you had the criteria you have proposed how do you think the div 2 clubs will build junior sides when the kids will all move onto the div 1 teams to play. 1 is the first in kids eyes and that is what they want to be. Im with you dth 2 divs is never going to work for the sfl comp. Maybe for the juniors they might have to look at having 2 gades in the junior set up that is u18 and u15. This would the older u18 that are bigger and stronger to push up to senior level and still leave plenty of numbers for an u18 side. The clubs that have good junior numbers then can fill 2 teams on a sat and will fill in the bye games or may allow for 5 games on a saturday on some weekends. Another way that could be put in place is that you dont field a full juniors progamme and your playing a club that does you then forfiet the right of a home game this would shake the clubs into action so much revenue to lose from no home game.Just a few thoughts.
Also look good in leather my understanding with the townies joining the comp was done 12 months ago and the sfl put concessions in place to let them work on the process of bring the juniors over in 2-3 years. I think people need to get over the fact that townies are in the comp without juniors and move on they are here ok deal with it.

pretty sure each club nominates 5 players and they pick and choose butch and matt walton both got picked but matty has about another 3 or so on the sidelines with a hammy wont be involved. be good when we can get a few injuries back weve never been close to even full strength
