Shoeboy, just heard from a Brighton memebr who was at the ground on Sat, saying that there was a nasty brawl in the U/18'S.

Sweendog, talking with one of your lads last night and he and others not to happy about the lack of discipline on field over the last couple of weeks?

were you talking to me last night. cos i agree, but most of the crap things we have been doing have all come form one guy who is untouchable about our club. he is nearing a major milestone and is being carried by the team, most of us lads want him gone and cant wait till he retires.

Looks like Golding and Hibbard too Tall & strong for the Cove boys.

This was at the Cove wasnt it? The small oval obviously suited the big fellas up front for Edwardstown.

I cant believe Hibberd kicked goals against Cove- very surprising...

Yeh massive surprise matt Hibberd's probably kicked in excess of 1000 odd A Grade goals it is certainly hard to believe he could kick any against the mighty cobra's,and the 5 he got against M/Vale was a big surprise too!

Hibbs one of the better forwards going around.
I agree he does appear lazy and a little unfit but he can play and prob the best kick for goal I have seen.

Agree with him being a good kick I know against Morphies he was forced to have his shots from pretty close to the boundary line on most occasions and still slotted 5.

soft as butter if you ask me.

Yeah, standing close by to the Flagy box on Sat watching the Roos, i must admit there was alot of yelling and screaming going.
I do recall one message he gave the runner to take out and i reckon the "F" word was used about 10 times.
Even the B Grade coach had a go at his players and they were 8 goals up at that stage.

Think if you are playing A's you should be able to handle a spray from the coach no matter what age you are. its senior football

WOW! A fairly positive comment about the guy that's rare, there's no doubt he's not the fittest bloke around but iv'e played with him the last 2 years and he's work ethic at training can't be questioned,as for goalkicking have seen none better. Also not much been said about E/town smashing cove all i've read was how bad cove played nothing about E/town at all keep writing us off at your peril!

Come on Shoe Boy. Haymakers from a lad wearing navy blue and white is a bit more than push and shove. Broken Jaws, cheekbones and eye sockets rarely bleed. (Not that I'm saying any injuries of that nature occurred on Saturday).

Any news on how many games he got. The Brighton lad got a 1 week holiday.

The lad got 2 games and we pleaded guilty! This lad never reported and a mail medal winner also but that doesnt condone his actions.

Your lad very lucky to be given 1 only! 3rd in hit 2 lads from behind and once told he was reported returned to hit onther from behind and YOU plead NOT GUILTY???? maybe the insanity card?

Took a long time to compose that response Fido Dido.

Not saying he wasnt a good player, but thought that Cove had the defence to handle the bloke.

first ive heard of it mate so if your right i wasnt invited. we had a leadership meeting last night but we do this most weeks. i havent heard of anything about greeny or that the younger blokes arent happy with him or in general. most of our guys are young so surely if was the case i would have heard of it before now and not from someone from christies.
unless your referring to the fact my wife invited everyone elses girlfriends to the greyhound night coming up the younger blokes werent happy about that...

Hey sweendog you still dont understand your posting makes you look like a fool. Always giving nothink to this forum. If you have nothink else to talk about except the sh$t that is made up in ypur head I will help you out with a topic. Topic 1: tell everyone that the crap that you come up with in your head that christies are a top 4 chance was the voices talking again. topic 2: at least have the balls to ge on the forum and post that christies have well and truly made you look stupid over the last few weeks. (At leaset shoe boy can admit when his team has struggled) topic 3: admit that 1 bloke is not the only player to throw cheep ones at christies.
Most people can post on here and admit when they are wrong but you go missing when it gets to hard oh thats right so do christies.

On another topic you would think the bombers would be hot favourites for the flag at the moment. The a grade is made up of a few good kids and from what I have been told they have 6+ quality mature A graders still to slip back in. Would I be around the mark dth.

I think that might be why he's a BIG pick up.

Whoa !!! Has the lad blown out .... he was a beanpole when he was young !!!
One thing hasn't changed though obviously .... the fact he changes clubs at the drop of a hat after making a commitment.

Interesting seeing about 10 Morphie kids with their shirts off being driven around the ground at the end in the back of a truck ute singing the club song  nice safe practice there!

Yep .... very safe !!! Good to see the kids encouraged to get involved and shown the value of safety ... ohhhhh .... and you forgot to mention how many, many, many, many cans the driver of the ute had consumed :)

I thought the boys in the back of the ute singing the club song was a nice touch and to say the driver had been drinking is crap. The lady driving the ute had her son and his friends in the back and she hadn't had a drink all day. If she was going any slower she would have been going backwards.

Yeh, sorry Wheels - my bad !! I had confused the driver of the ute Dutchy referred to with the drivers of the utes he referred to in a later post ..... Still doesn't defend the safety of the practice :)

... and that safety was possibly seriously jeopardised by the feral yobbos in the other utes (attempting burnouts - with no success) as Dutchy so rightly mentioned - yep they were observed by our officials too !

Also could you let us know what your president said after the game, saw him go out onto the oval and point the finger at the players and he didn't look very happy.

And why was the Bar closed during the A Grade game ?

Wheels, don't know what the Pres said - but he's involved in every A Grade game and passionately involved, so he wouldn't have been happy with the performance !!! As I understand it, he was basicly pointing the finger at the players to say it was their responsibility to improve and do better - pretty obvious I would have thought :) ... and also pretty much the way you would expect a club to react to a bad loss in an important game, if there is passion & pride in the club !!!

... and Real McCoy, don't know what planet you were on but the bar was open all afternoon.

asert wrote:just like to say well done to morph parks wasnt one cheap shot all day maybe the club is trying to head in a bit better direction, shame the b grade i couldnt say the same especially when the one guy who was giving them all day got one back had tears on the field. cant say much about the supporters tho if you dont want to be labelled feral dont act like it, supporters coming past the players in between qtrs swearing at us etc. if you keep it up the sfl will make you play at league grounds to curb your supporters binge drinking it had a feel of old school porties grand final. on a bright note were some pretty impressive mullets out on display.
a grade played really well and shut us down. not one player played well for us on sat and every player was embarrassed to get in best players at the club sat night. well done roos played well

Have to back up Asert here. Well done to the Roos A Grade, just played great footy with no ugly stuff at all to get us fired up !! The B Grade was a good match other than that one player (who was sent off early but came back on) .... very much old enough to know better !!
As for the supporters - well the good thing from my point of view was that the ugly feral supporters (ours and the Roos) stayed on the other side or near the southern goals, although when I went down there to collect lost balls I realised how f&@%in awful they were ....
Ha ! It's SFL footy, so they belong there. Wouldn't be the same without 'em ... but once you're on the oval in the breaks, keep away from the opposition players ! On the whole, the supporters in front of the club were fantastic, well behaved, and were there in the right spitit of the game.

Yep, and I must admit I'm surprised !
The Towns have a huge asset in Golding & Hibberd up forward - will challenge most teams but I though Cove would be able to handle them ... obviously not !
My observation from just one game was that the forward set-up was their main asset, their midfield was strong but not great and their defence looked a bit suspect. Thought Cove would exploit their weaknesses, and have the forwards to kick a good score. Maybe Brighton did and others can .. but they are definitely in the mix.
